Item: 94 GTO engine
Location: Perth, WA
Item Condition: Poor
Reason for selling: Don't trust the motor
Price: $14,000
Payment Method: Cash
Extra Info:

I have my RPW built 6g72 engine up for sale. ENGINE ONLY.

It is running in car, can be heard going.

The reason for sale is that I do not trust it. This has been rebuilt twice and has had many issue.

So, pickup this $20,000 + cost to build engine for only $14,000

Receipts given for both rebuilds. ( needed a rebuild the first time due to me "Jacking up the Sump" lol )

See attached Photos as example

No offence intended - but I think your comments such as "condition-poor"
& " don't trust the motor" & " has had many issues" might make people wary of spending $14g ??

Good luck with the sale but.

I realise that you were being honest....And so was I !
As I said Im not trying to have a go...I was merely stating how I and possibly others, may interpret it.
I wasn't out to offend or steer people away.

no worries. I'll see how I go with the sale :D

wouldn't like to give anyone a bum steer. The first engine build lasted about 1000kms and the second has just ticked over 1200kms!

The first rebuild failed on all 6 main bearings. RPW say I jacked it up some the sump. I don't recall doing that. Anyways, all fixed now ( although im also $6K out of pocket! ).

they had metal through the motor and had to flush / new bearings everywhere again. Took rods with it too.

off the top of my head...

forged rods
forged crank
forged pistons
mls hg
arp everywhere
560cc injectors
after market turbo manis
3sx special turbos + dump
99 ecu with chrome ecu tuning + loom
new AC comp / alt / timing gear / belts / pulleys / oil pump / oil lines etc etc

apart from that, i'll have to look at the parts brought

The motor will make 450 - 500 whp and with a bigger cam / turbo about 800-900 whp

If it wasn't built by RPW then I wouldn't be selling it.

I think with the first rebuild you jacked the car up via the sump, compressing the sump and restricting the flow to the oil pick up hence the spun bearings ect

haha that is the story!!! shame my jack wont even reach the sump!! in a gto the sump is like a meter back from the front!!!

I reckon that rpw still doesn't have a clue what caused it. They didn't even tell me that there was sump damage until they had finished the car and I claimed warranty! It was just an excuse to get out of my warranty claim and get another 6K from me.

Anyway, I'm moving on. I reckon i'll build a 3.8l 6g74 for it :D

Glen
