Hey guys, I have a MD150427 ECU and a MD165808 ECU for sale

the MD165808 has been socketed and comes with a chip for 550cc injectors and a 2g AFM

MD150427 $150
MD165808 $250

Will either one suit a 1992 Aspec VR4 ? My caps just crapped and took the board with it .

Hey Mike,
Here's a thread discussing that topic

http://4gtuner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2816

I'm not 100%, but the general consensus is that it will work.

The MD150427 would be the cheaper option, it's single board (dataloggable), but it has no EPROM, so if you dont' want to get a chip for it, it will be fine.

The MD165808 is a single board with EPROM, so if you need to in the future, you can get a chip for it to compensate for larger injectors, different afm, stutterbox, etc.

Let me know what you decide to go with

Thanks

Thanks... I checked the thread. The opinions seem 50/50 ! I tried our socketed Rally VR4 ecu (md165808) with my ASpec 1992 VR4 eprom. The car runs ok, but the ABS light stays on. Is the MD 165808 by any chance a JSpec RS ?? Runs ok enough to move it around the shed.... but would kinda like the ABS to work. My ASpec ecu is part no. MD165810. Do you have any thoughts, or know anybody with an ASpec ecu ?

Cheers Mike

That's odd, my ABS works fine, with the 165808 ECU, but mine is in a jspec car

You could always just swap the pins around on the loom so that you can match up the ABS pin on the ECU to the proper pin on the loom using that xls spreadsheet with all the pinouts.
