probably been done a zillion times but interested to know

full grandma driving only netted 350km's full tank driving to geelong an back is this resonable compared to you guys????

stock car exhaust etc!

350-400 here on BP Ultimate. MAYBE over 400 if I am lucky but it may only be 20kms or so.

What was your average speed on that run to Geelong and back?

I find on highway driving at around 100km/h the fuel consumption isn't too bad and on long runs it appears to use less, but that would be the odd tank where I get over 400km.

As most is Freeway traffic of a mixture of 80km/h average or stop start stuff I am more likely to get in the 350-400 bracket. Thats still around 10 or 10.5L/100 so its not bad.

All stock here too :)

bout 95 km's i was really doin my best to see its best an was just getting like 355k's on bp ultimate maybe i have a smaller tank????

How many km has the engine done?

Whats the condition of spark plugs, injectors, fuel filter etc?

Just doing a good thorough service can improve fuel economy, well thats what I have found anyway.

i do about to urban & highway mixed granny driving & load driving i should get around 520-540kms full tank. this is all based on odometer calculations on each fillup.

Around 420-460km's....might be able to push it a little more. This is with vortex 98. Mixture of highway driving and city driving.

Yep around the 400 km mark aswell. Surprisingly, the CB 1.6 has worse fuel economy than the GSR did! :?

520 - 540?!..
what size fuel tank do you have?!..

isnt the gsr fuel tank 50ltrs??

i drink 8ltr of fuel 90kms 98% of the time. (10ltr/110kms)

and my car isnt loaded with weight. my figures are all calculated from 8l/90k (50ltr tank)

i havent tried filling up 50ltr yet to see. the results. :?

i get 400 - 450 around town if not thrashing it, obviously less if the boots in all the time, but on the highway i have seen just shy of 600k's.

and the vr4 is a fairbit heavier than u lads... thats using optimax

My vr4 used to average 500 odd around town on 14psi boost and get 700-900 on the highway depending on overtaking patterns and if the highway was flat or uphill or downhill. That's pure highway runs btw.

To adelaide I got 740kms to the tank, home from adelaide I got 850kms from the tank (less hills, less overtaking).

I ran the tanks till teh fuel gauge was sitting on the empty line which worked out to be a refill of 55-57litres.

It's not a gsr/evo tho. And the new one will get NOWHERE NEAR that. (It spits out fuel from the exhaust at idle!)

well as dumb as it may sound. since i have upped my boost to 14psi. I have started gettin better fuel economy, about 12-13litres/ 100km

or about 450-470 a tank....
once i upped the boost i reset the ecu and all that :)
so she seems to be runnin better....
also next tank u fill up put some injector cleaner or fuel system cleaner in...
K Mart has a special on valvoline x 2 injector cleaner for $10.

Also if u have done some mods recently reset your ecu....
easiest way is disconnect the neg battery terminal for 30 MINS. Then b4 u re-connect it fully press your brake pedal down for about 1 minute. Then you reconnect the neg terminal...
Start the car up but dont accell or anythin!!!
let it idle for 5 mins.

Turn it off.
Then your done and the ecu has been reset :)

Hope that helps since it made a diff on mine

Just out of interest is that a Mitsubishi ECU reset, or what someone told you?
Is it for the VR4 only or the GSR/EVOs as well?

Thanks

from wat i know its pretty standard for most cars, it was the same on my rs turbo liberty and my mx6 turbo.....
it should be the same.
just make sure the battery is d/connected for a minumin of 30 mins.

at the end of the day. u got nothin to lose :)

just bear in mind that for the first 50-100 kms of drivin it will be crappy fuel since it is gettin used to the new stuff....like redoin the timin, fueling, rpm's and so forth....

 I get about 150 kms to a tank but that is going flat out for about 100 of those kays

your accell mite be glued to the floor, get it chekd out hehehe

i am usually lucky to get 300km's out of a tank, and that was before the latest mod's ive done.

although, my TPS is rooted and keeps thinking i'm on full throttle when i'm cruising, so that could explain it.

Dane, the process Evil MX6 listed works.

It resets the "learned" portion of the ECU code so the ECU adjusts to compensate all the other mods.

It will also completely reset if it is not connected to a power source for longer than 24 hours.
