Along with some other work im putting in a walbro and sard fuel pressure reg.

The stock fuel filter is rated a 2L /min of flow and in bigger setups this is changed. For my car should i look at changing it.
510cc injectors are sufficent for a setup like this untill the boost is turned up to around 20psi, so the 2L /min of the filter looks on paper to just do the job. (im using 560's anyway).

Do i need to upgrade the filter or any other restrictions at this level. I dont want to go AN fitting and braided lines if i dont need to. It doesnt have to look sexy for the sake of it. Is there a reasonable solution.

Basically the setup will be;
272 cams
td05 20g
055 afm
560cc injectors
With some other supporting mods; chip, wideband ect. And later intercooler piping and safc if need be.

Looking to run around 17-18psi on the street. So id estimate to be in the region of 350hp when all set up.

Some other threads i found on this are a few years old or people pushing 500hp.
According to VFAQ on the 93 talon dsm they tested, they couldnt get more than 1.9L/min through the stock system. Yet the walbro and sard path seems to be all some do with mild upgrades.

I've seen some nice setups with stock fuel filters but in saying that, I'd upgrade.

At least change your filter to a bosch style one, it'll bolt up in the same position as stock.

Also change your fuel filter to fuel rail line to a -6 line at minimum.
You'll need to either weld a -6 speedflow fitting on the rail or get a bolt up fitting, but the problem with bolt up fittings is that you will lose diametre within the inlet due to the requirement for the o-ring slot.

As for the other end of the fuel rail, once again get a bolt on fitting (this should be ok on the return side, they have a larger opening) and run a -6 line to your fuel pressure reg.

This should be sufficient imo.

I've got -8 from pump to rail so I've gone a bit over board.

fair enough thanks for that. yeah just wanted to know if im pushing it as ive seen some pretty stock setups like what i planned but wanted to be sure.

You'll be fine on the street with that setup.
I'm still running the stock fuel filter but I am running -6 from the filter to the rail.
I have no fuel delivery problems with 1450cc injectors and a 50 trim turbo @ around 30psi.
I believe that the banjo fitting on top is a pretty big restriction.
