Hi all,
I understand the importance of fuel regulators, eg, plenty of boost, no fuel = rebuild from running lean!

I have 2 4g93t engines for my cc gsr (1 spare, both in pieces :( ). One engine used the factory fuel rail and regulator, whilst the forged engine had an aftermarket fuel rail with a large thread (14mm or whatever in BSP) at the end where the stock fuel regulator would normally be mounted. An adjustable aftermarket fuel regulator of some type was fitted to this end, whilst the factory flexible delivery line to the opposite end had been replaced with some crude piece of shit with a hose clamp

I am trying to do away with all the aftermarket crap where possible to keep the engine bay appearing to be stock (if possible), and have already reverted the flexible fuel delivery pipe back to original, however, I am unsure if this will "starve" the 510cc injectors of fuel. any thoughts?? I have no idea what type of fuel pump is in the vehicle as it is located interstate and I haven't looked in the tank yet, I wont get a chance for a while.

Also I do not know what pressure the adjustable fuel regulator was set at, but would there be a factory fuel regulator off of another model Mitsubishi that could be used with the 510cc injectors that would bolt onto the existing factory fuel regulator mount??

Should I just tidy up the previous owners mods and leave it as was (replace the hose clamp with a crimped fitting), and therefore do away with having to get the engine re-dyno'd?

Is it possible to measure the fuel pump flow by collecting the volume of fuel delivered over a set time. eg, mL per 15sec x 4 = mL per minute.
Cheers.

Ive used the stock regulator, fuel rail and lines on my daughters car. that works just fine with 510 cc injectors. the delivery line from the filter to the rail is the same on an evo or a gsr..

Factory rail, piping and regulator will be fine for 510 injectors on a 93t
Its only the vr4 that had different (lower) pressure regulator 37psi as opposed to 43psi.

Yes you can check flow, but voltage will be a variable. And you need the pressure/flow charts for the pump it might be. Easier to pull the pump. Remember to undo the fitting at the rail, not the one on the top of tank

Thanks guys. Was hoping to be able to use original equipment. Hose clamps instead of swaged or compression type fittings on pressurised fuel line could end in tears one day! Yes, will remove and check fuel pump as suggested.

Iv run id2000's on factory rail, fuel reg and lines. Also iv run a total of 80psi fuel pressure with hose clamps and no problems.

fuel pressure regulator mod
Adapt the adjustable reg in the middle of the rail & feed the fuel in each end
Cheers
