hi guys

i was wondering if anyone has any ideas how unbolt the connector (hose with the bolt on the end of both ends) on the fuel pump with out break the little tip thing? Its stuck and i cant figure out a way to get if off.

If its never been taken off its a pain in the ass. Lots of rp7.
Main problem is the but is under the floor so really hard to get a spanner on it to stop it twisting. Drop the fuel tank and you'll have no problem getting it off then :)

yeah it is a pain
i dont think its ever been taken off,
i have dropped the tank and its like fully stuck, i've already bent the little tip on it a bit, i dont wanna break it off, if i keep going the way i am going i am going to break if off.

any other suggestions?

You're using two spanners yeah?
You could always cut it off and use fuel hose and clamps. That's what I did in my coupe because my standard lines didn't have the fitting. I was originally carby :)

But that's last resort

yeah using 2 spanners lol, no good,
yeah i was thinking that i could just cut it and use hose clamps guessing thats my only option atm
thanks for your input

If it is the same as the gsr connections...it needs to be undone at the opposite end of the hose that connects to the fuel pump cradle. Then remove the whole cradle and stick it in a vice to get the hose off.

Don't just hose clamp the bare end of a pipe. There is 50 psi in there. You asking for trouble.

Also the pipe on the sender won't turn. You have to turn the whole flexy pipe and hold the metal pipe in the vice.

hey, nice post brian. great minds do think alike, eh!
beat me by 4 min

I've had mine clamped down for two years. No problems. It isn't the greatest option. But I've got the hose going over 3-4cm of pipe and two hose clamps.

Na Gianni you can do better than that. Put a bead on the tube at least or pipe flare it and use screw on connectors. As mentioned its under high pressure and eventually it will slide and come off soraying shitloads of fuel out.

That screw on fuel hose connection out back is a pain. If its seized theres a 50/50 chance it may never come off so try not to crimp the steel pipe coming out of the cradle

Ha ha. Just put a air hammer bit in the hole and wack it with a hammer a few times bro ;) it flares it enough :)

if you get this, you will have the correct tool for the job, and a double flare is better than a single. also double flares are required for brake lines, so i do them on all tubes (as does mitsubishi)

Don't force it with a spanner in each hand. Get them close together enough so you can get your hands around both of them and make sure they will UNDO the connection if you pull them towards each other. Just wrap hand(s) around both at the same time and pull them together.

If they slip on the "nuts" you need to get those spanners that can wrap around most of the hex pattern with a gap to get the pipe through. Get some half decent ones because the cheap ones will just flare out and you'll strip 5 sides at once.
