Hey guys,

As the title says, Based on our local market I think I can source either of these gearbox's to be mated to the 4G93T.

4G13 gearbox (already owned).
4G92 Dohc gearbox.
4g91 gearbox.

What fo you think of the above options ?. Taking into consideration that I have the original gearbox of the 4G93T but my mechanic don't want to go through the hassle of making it to deliver the power to the front wheels only.

(Sorry if it's in the wrong section as I really need to finalize this issue as soon as possible and the traffic here is high)

Thanks.

i've read somewhere that 4g92 mivec boxes are fairly stron and have short ratios. This may be a much better option than getting a 4g93t box and locking it to FWD.

Its not Brian, but the mivec box is FWD already and has much more beneficial things about it compared to the '93t box (closer ratios, *apparently* stronger internals)

that would be a better choice then..
....but I was posting that because the "mechanic" didnt want the hassle so I wondered if he knows how easy it really is

Close ratio and FWD turbo is still not the perfect mix though if he can find a Mivec box it will be a bolt in job, although he needs to change the 4G93T AWD flywheel to a 4G93 FWD flywheel to use with a FWD box (as the AWD flywheel doesnt fit inside a FWD gearbox bellhousing).

We know its easy to make the AWD box run FWD by taking the end case off the gearbox and fitting a VCE... but then you gotta also make a plate to cover the hole where the transfer case usually lives too (plus maybe weld the centre diff for added strangth if preferred). GSR synchros and forks arent the best either. Im at work atm so cant exactly recall on the Mivec internals til I get home.

Thanks guys for the input.

If it were between the 4G92 (dohc & non Mivec) and the 4G93 (sohc), which would you choose of them ?.

I assume that the 4G13 gearbox is a no no, even in the worst scenario of not finding either of the 4G92/93 gearbox's .
