Hey just curious to see how much gas is involved in re-gassing the air con unit in a Lan GSR?
Cheers

Sweet thanks for the reply.
Yeah i wanted to know because I'm getting my air con gassed by a friend at his workshop and yeah needed to know the amounts.

Anybody else get their air cons re-gassed?
Let me know please what the amount was.

Cheers

whilst on the air con subject, when i used to turn my ac on, it'd be very dusty- is there a way to clean this deep down or just gotta let it run for ages.?

on the topic of regassing aircon

Make Sure your mate or whoever does it evacuates the air con system for at least 30-45 minutes so that it gets rid of all the moisture (and gas) out of the system - THEN regas it.. thats the proper way it should be done.
there are too many dodgy people out there who will just add a bit more gas. this is not the proper way to do it. (this is the difference between a cheapo $75 regas, and a $120 proper serviced one)

Its also best to get regassed on a stinking hot day - because when they are measuring the amount of gas to put in, a hot day at least allows expansion and they can ensure they have the right amount of gas in the system. If they regas it on a cold day for example and if they then put too much gas in and havent allowed room for expansion, then youre in for trouble when a hot day comes around - but again, if theyre professional and know their sht and arent just some apprentice then you'll be fine and it wont matter when you take the car.

I know its going in a bit deep, but if you want a perfect job follow the above.

it also should be backed down properly to check for leaks
and so that the correct amount of gas is put in.

once backed down(empty) the gas bottle should be placed on scales
and the amount of gas should be weighed as it is put in,
to make sure the correct amount is put in.
