Hi guys, Only found this site last week and am very impressed so far! I've wanted a vr4 for atleast 10 years but timing and money have just never come together at the same time until recently.

Picked up my Silver 88 vr4 last week with 88kms on the clock and pretty much stock bar a td05/manifold. This is the car i plan on throwing cash at for a very long time so stay tuned.

Am starting another thread in the wanted section to i need afew bits n pieces.

There are a few around, most of them seem to be broken atm though including mine!
Mine will be up and running very shortly hopefully :)
What mods are you looking at for the old girl?

Don't say that can't afford to break it atm! Um after some parts in the wanted thread to start and need to get the aircon goin aswell then full 3inch mandrel bent exhaust and boost controller to start. Would like to buy acouple of gearboxes and transfer cases for spares, Plan on goin with a twin plate clutch, 4 bolt rear diff and a much bigger turbo but not sure which one yet. Would like the suspension similar to my last car which was Nismo S-tune shock/springs. They are so smooth yet handle so very well not to stiff.
Would like to replace all the power windows but i'm not paying $2100 from Mitsi! Can any of you guys tell me if there is a aftermarket version available?

Would keep adding to the list but its a big ass list. Will fill you guys in as i go.

You can run up to 15 psi without the need for a boost controller, but anything over about 14 psi will hit boost cut thanks to the ecu. You will need a chippable ecu and a chip to overcome that, or a chippable ecu and DSM Link.

Transfer cases only break when they run out of oil, constant checks solve that problem.

You are up for a timing belt/s job soon. I did mine at 80 000km and replaces all hoses, belts, tensioners and waterpump at the same time. Brisvr4 is getting good at doing timing belts now so give him a holla, I'm sure he will do it for free.

Ross Cox has my old doors, I think they had the power window motors in them. What isn't working with the windows, the motors or the switches?

my car will be running again one day the parts are here now just waiting for old mate to do the work .... Gotta buy a new battery to now since my optima has packed it in

The belts got done at 80000kms! The switches all work just all the motors are tired. Did see a good artical on calais forums about sorta restoring/cleaning the power windows and it looked like it might work! Not sure if theres guys out there that do that sort of thing, looks abit to time consuming to me.

Hey Crossam what parts you fitting?

everything has been done to my car, gotta redo head gasket though as its leaking compression under boost, found this out on the dyno after nearly getting my car back on the road. the car has been off the road for 2.5 years now.

Head is coming off to be checked, new gasket and new head studs going in.
Then back on the DYNO again, then hopefully i will be able to drive it again. Should be a weapon when its done.

Sounds like they just need a clean and grease.

looks abit to time consuming to me.

Nothing Roy, just liked it when I saw it and it doesn't play nice with Evo's at the drags :p
sometimes these young Evo's need granddad to show them who's boss! lol
