ok we all know that Tri-Diamond only made a hand full of Gear box styles for there FWD and AWD cars, now considering that, does anyone know if the 4G series engines share the same Bell housing as the 6G series engines??

example, first Gen 4G6# gear box would bolt onto a 6G7#?

any help will be much appriciated

damnz...... but is it safe to say the gear box is the same, just the bell housing is different ? eg: FWD Manual Gear boxes?
 
The early FWD 6G gearbox is the biggest FWD trans that you can get.
The early AWD 6G gearbox is same as VR4 with different ratios and bellhousing boltpattern.
The 3000GT twin turbo has a very large AWD Getrag 5 or 6 speed.

Are you looking for a strong V6 box or what exactly?
 
actually looking to shove a 6g72 JSpec DOHC n/a into my galant, and was thinking bout the ratios if they would work with my dash, engine seems to fit by measurements, just lookin into adapting the gear box and CV joints.......

While you are asking questions about gear box bell housings, is there a gearbox that will bolt up to a 4G63 for RWD? Say I wanted to put a Evo motor into a Shitter L200 Ute....
 
All the 4cyl gearboxes(ex Starion) will bolt to an EVO engine. Only problem is that you have no bolt holes for RWD engine mounts on an EVO engine.

Hhmmm yes but don't some Mitsubishi vans have a 4G63 SOHC motor?
Its the motor you can get a stroker crank from, also I think it was on this forum but I remember a guy put a Evo motor in his Van, was an awsome sleeper! so there must be some way of mounting the engine...
 
there always is a way, when you can be stuffed.... or over beers lol anything can be done....
