Hey guys..

anyone got hook ups with gear box re conditioners in melb? its probably the only part of the car i CBF rebuilding my self (minus making the custom lsd)

bearings/syncro's/etc (possibly upgrades for shifting at high RPM)

suggestions of places would be great! (even if you had a approx price if you have had it done is cool too)

any info would be great!

Regards
Jay

You running a fwd box or awd box locked?

Anyway, it.might be worth sending interstate for.

If you want a local contact, there are a few I have but they simply do the basics.

The one thats does a little extra takes forever.......

You can give Andrew Vibert (formally of CVAP) a call, he still tinkers with bits and pieces of cars from time to time and gearboxes were his specialty. He might be interested.

i'm still running FWD box Baz... they seem to hold up well... but mine is starting to whine now... (i'm tempted to buy your stuff Baz)

Oh is Andrew still in the same location? or does he do it from home now?

Jay, you really should if you're contemplating a rebuild.
Baz's set including clutch is worth the $$.

yeah been thinking about it.... would probably come out the same price after a full rebuild.....

are the VR4 g/b able to handle high rpm shifts??

my current box, i can shift fine up to 7.2K RPM, after that it wont let me into gear untill the RPM drops... (it is a 1989 gear box though..)

yeah thinking about it all.... cheers guys!

Baz's set up it looking awesome right now lol.....

+1 to the idea of buying Baz's proven setup - much easier and alot less mucking around IMO. Who knows what you might be up for if you go for a gearbox reco - there could be a few little unwanted surprises (and costs!) that pop up.

wouldnt be anytime soon bro... mid next year i'd be looking if you still have it by then...
