vaughany[/B]"]This is my Evo 7 gearbox and is exactly as it was lifted out of the car. It was a 6000rpm launch with Pirelli WRC tyres.

LOL!

should post this on evooz :)

Crap! Do you know what happened to4garret?
Did the flywheel explode or something?
Why is everything blue? Is that because of redline oil? Looks like paint!

yup redline oil, looking at the darken oil film on the bellhousing i am assuming it was pretty ****** to begin with.

but as the guy said, 6k drop bang. i dont know the mods on the car yet, either a good clutch, good power, or defect in the gearbox casting.

holey *****! thats an effort and a half! there would have to be some kinda defect in the casting for sure to be broken so much! looks like it was dropped out of a plane! lol.

ROFL!!! Good effort, hope the rest of his engine bay is ok, but looking at that....
That shockproof really is like glue

it looks much more like it has been in an accident than broken from a launch. like to break like that? i have seen quite a few broken boxes and nothing like that from a launch. there is no broken gears at all?
i work at a wrecker and have seen quite a few boxes in from accidents or dropped from big highets and it looks much more like that or someone has taken a sledge to it.

Thats a perfect example of why I plan to never use that product, thats plain wrong.
what you dont like the thought of oil being all over the gears before they are moving????

thats a hell of a mess of a gearbox though... i would have thought that teeth would go before the casing!

yer you would expect the gears too go before the casing but then again you see subaru gearboxes smash casings all the time soo its not a rare sight

and id definetly say redline shockproof gearoil is good for protection and smoother gearchanges, longer service life before gearbox needs too be striped down

What's the bet the PRICK bolt was left out of the bell housing and slowly it had been fatiguing the bell housing..... till launch & pop
Thats the 3rd late model evo Ive seen with very similar bell housing crack patterns

P - Pick up new EVO 7
R - Rev the **** out of the engine
I - Implosion
C - Cant drive no more
K - Kill the c*nt who left the bolt out

:)
