Gearbox Oil leak help

Well as topic states ive got a leak.

Its dripping down the drivers side of the car and loses quite alot of fluid, about 500ml a day. We first thought Drive shaft seal so i replaced that also the actual drive shaft didnt seem to be in properly as wehn i dropped the suspension it came out itself...

So popped that back in with new seal but to no luck it is still dropping oil. Ive cleaned the oil and tried to have a good look around to see where its actually coming from but cant locate it.

Just wondering if any1 else out there has had a similar problem and could give some advise of where to look. Also sounds like the shafts are making alot of noise under the car while driving... and clicking when i turn...

The clicking is prob coz the shafts are worn but the other noises seem like the shafts are loose???? could the power the car is putting out be pushing the shafts out when turning and acceling?

any cracks on the gear box you can see?

and when was it last takin out and serviced?

How far in did you push the new seal? If it is pushed all the way in it will still leak!

does the shaft have the little locking ring on the end still and is it clipping into the diff itself?
it shouldnt fall out with the suspension, should take a little effort to pop it out.
it could be floating in and out of the diff?

what DOUGMO said. when the gearbox goes on the shaft should have a little click when it goes in. the shaft if only 3/4 in will still drive but wont seal.

ok guys think ive fixed the issue,

seal was to far in also filling the oil while on stands prolly over filled it.

now i gotta pull appart the passenger side shaft as i dont think its clicked in properly and making alot of noise which it never used to.

the passenger side is the intermediate shaft, should be bolted to the back of the block

Also check if the output shaft seal is leaking (its located inside the bellhousing behind the flywheel). Get under the car and look just under where the front of your transfer case bolts on, there should be a little 10mm wide notch which is part of the bellhousing's casting. Whenever there is a leak at the output shaft seal, oil flows at the bottom of the bellhousing and pours out that little notch no as not to fill the bellhousing with oil. I'll get you a pic today to show you where to check
