Can anyone give me a list of things i've gotta unbolt to get a gearbox off? Or a vfaq link or something?

Preferably in order... along with any tips you'd like to share.

Clutch
Flywheel
Pivot Ball
Clutch Fork
Clutch line
Master Cyl
Slave Cyl
Rear main seal
Rear engine mount
Release Bearing

Degreasing and checking stuff while i'm under there...

Installing a new oil catch can down there somewhere too.

While we are talking about this area. Can the engine be taken out with the gearbox left in the bay? Is there enough room to lever the box back against the bay to squeeze the engine out with clutch still attached?

I'm about 10 mins away from the engine being ready to come. Just wanting to know if I have to screw around taking the box out also.

jon and I pulled his engine out without taking his box out.

I don't see why not?

Just take the bonnet OFF completely and have a couple of mates around to pull the engine crane this way and that.

You'll also need to support the box with a jack or something because it hasn't got any mounts.

Got it all covered. One of the only benefits of being a mechanic.....you get to take stuff from work.
Thanks mate.
