Genuine Evo Bars..E1,2,3

Just wondering if those in the know can point out (with the use of pics) the differences between the genuine Evo 1/2/3 type front Bars/guards..I have attached a pic..

On this silver one, the bar seems to flare out and match the lip of the front quarter panels..this is a genuine matched guard and bar then?

Yes, mine is designed to suit a GSR guard so it does not flare out at all.

evo 1-3 guards are the same,more flared than a standard lancer.

evo 1-2 bar covers are the same but a 2 has the lower lip that bolts to the bottom of the cover. that bar above is either a 1 bar or a 2 one missing the lip.

evo 3 bar is totally different in every way.

heres' an Evo 1 front.

heres and Evo 2 front. Same as Evo 1 but got an extra bottom lip

and heres an Evo 3 front, bit more 'out there'

notice the guards on all 3, how they indent where it meets the front bar, and flares out a little bit, compared to a GSR, where there is no flare.

Is that a genuine bar you have, or aftermarket? it looks genuine..

Another question..all the genuine ones are plastc and the replicas fibreglass?

Id imagine the fibreglass ones look a bit shitty, id be after the real deal...and as far as the grill, is the genuine grill for these things seperate two piece or moulded, in them pics the genuine ones look moulded.ANd is the lip a bolt on? ive seen fibreglass rplicas with it all as one, the lower lip is cast ass one with the bar, and it looks shitty when the fibreglass chips.

I've also seen some aftermarket bars fitted up and the dont fit very well around the grill and it looks very cheap and shitty.

You will find that quite alot of the fibreglass bumpers have the infamous gap between the top of the bumper (grille area) and bonnet.

For instance, here is an original EVO 3 bumper:

and here's a fibreglass copy- notice the difference??

Some facelift Libero GT's come out with an EVO 1 front standard- you can definately see the differences in guards in these pics:

The gap in the fibreglass bars would shit me to tears, it just makes it look like a cheap knock-off i think

Thats how I got the car, previous owner bought it in a group buy from Perth years back, not sure if I could get a replacement if it was damaged.
