Genunine Evo 1-3s in Australia

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I guess you have the Jap CD/CE-xxx number and the new Australian number. But I would imagine that people don't like their chassis details online.

i'd be squirrely about my vin for sure as that can trace back through rego and identify where the car is located. i have no issues whatsoever with the body/chassis number being posted though

sure it's the Japanese vin but it's not used to identify the car here in Australia and as suchg my local transport authority calls it a chassis number. that was my point not all chassis numbers are vin numbers in Australia

do you remember how you have commented in the past how dodgy rebirths are?

Rather than believing anyone on this forum telling you that you have 2 VINs on your car (CC5H and CA5A), take a look at a lancer like yours at a dealer or wrecking yard and you will see that no other genuine cars have 2 different 17 character VINs.
Ring Mitsubishi to confirm for yourself that these 2 17 character numbers are both VINs, they should not be on the car together as they are from 2 separate cars. The shock tower one is a DIY punch in job (the characters don't even align). Depending if your car had its build and compliance plate transferred from the CC5H car, you will see drill and spinning pop rivet marks that they had been removed in the past.

nope on the cc coupes the one in the black is the genuine vin and it's on many cc lancers of it's age i've had 3 cc coupes and all have had the 2 vins a red cc gl my silver glxi and my brothers white gl. it's also noted in qld transports own handbook for vehicle identification and inspection. it confused the inspector when we first asked about it as i bought the car on qld's wovr after the floods and needed to get the vin for the paperwork.

you must have a good operator in your area...

btw, neither of those VINs have anything to do with this thread unless you are wanting to show us your rebirthed coupe

All 4 of my aust lancers have a different vin plate number compared to the firewall body number, but the vin plate and the strut tower number is the same

The evo3 plate and and firewall body number are the same though

Must be just aust models

i wasn't implying they did i know it's not an evo never said it was. and never implied that they had anything to do with this list i got asked to post the numbers to support my claim of not all body numbers are vins and i did so now you have evidence of 7 aust delivered cc coupes all exhibiting this same trend from 2 different people yet mine has to be a rebirth?
