Got my license back today....

Lost my license for two months after using all my points
could have taken 6 months good behavior but thought shite ill take 2 months suspension and be done with it...
what a dumb ass decision that turned out to be
Went to Qld Transport all happy in being able to drive again only to be told id have to go on a 12 month probation so affectivly im a p plater 4 12 months... 0 % alacohol and only 4 points for the year...dam i wish someone would have mentioned that, i would have taken 6 months good behaviour. I cant imagine going a whole year without losing any points. Especially when i get the vr4 on the road again that ive turned into a cop magnet !!! HAHA

Gona have to be a good boy alrite
maybe ill just have to drive the swift fo a year

I was on my P-plates for 3.5yrs with no speeding offences or anything, then two weeks away from getting my open licence I went for a drive with some of the lads on here and lost my licence speeding. I need to be able to drive so I figured I'd take the good behaviour ticket.
I told myself then that I'd be a better driver from then on but I have caught myself being silly since then. There is always just such a big urge to press the the pedal a little bit more. :unsure:
I don't know why, it doesn't net you much really....well nothing positive.

Having said that, driving the Hyundai around really (!) helped, even if you try to go fast you can't! hehe

That sucks! pretty sure its not like that over here in WA.

I lost my license on my p's and when i got my license back i just finished off the remainder of my p-plate time which was put on hold for the 3 months.
It was about 4 years ago though, i could gave forgotten, but im pretty sure i didnt have to restart my p-plate time.

I think its a pretty new thing, my cousin had the same thing last year and he just got his open license back no prabation or anything...it even sys on my license p- 12 months from today and o- for the 4 years after that

yea mo thats what i like about my 3 cylinder swift
put the foot down and it dont go anywhere haha

ill survive...im more worried bout not being able to have ONE beer then drive BUt thats the way itll have to be...
maybe ill have to abstain mmm havnt used that word before :blink:

I had to do my driving test again when I transferred from NSW auto licence to QLD manual and I got caught in the RedP/GreenP thingo. Yeah it took a while! haha

Maybe they just pick and choose depending on who you get at the counter at the Transport Department

Guys, do some proper motorsport, it really does change the way you drive on the road (for the better). It's the only thing which has prevented me from losing my licence numerous times.

I took the 1 point for a year only because I know if I took the suspension I would have kept driving anyway, cant live without the car. Get my opens in February but don't get my 12 points until may which sucks. QLD Transport is all over the place I have had friends who were told their licenses were suspended only to go to QLD transport at the end of the 6 months and be told it never was.

Also QLD laws state that a 'P' plate driver can not drive a Turbo Petrol Vehicle. Does this effect you as well??

Mine got taken on the spot.. and that week I got another one :thumbsdown: in total i gain like 19 points. I started both of my suspension on the same day, 6months and 3months.

But i got it back bout few weeks going and I'm back onto opens.. i dont know why you got a p's probation :huh:

i dont actually have to display p plates
but the chick at the transport place was pretty vague
and i wasnt in the best mood to listen

ill have to find out exactly what the official story is
as soon as possible.

i got a mate who got caught driving while disqualified lost hius license for 2 years just got it back 2 weeks ago and he didnt have to do any probabtion so its pretty up in the air

will let u guys no when i find out more

if you dont have to display p plates mate you can drive your turbo car. because i am on the old laws where you dont have to wear the p plates but i can drive a v8 or turbo car

Yeah I'm the same I'm on my P's but I got it before a certain date i think it was the end of June 07, so I don't have to worry about any of the new P laws.
