Hello everyone! My current project kind of happened on accident....... My wife and I used to live in Washington state and we were blessed with two wonderful baby girls. So, I looked around for something family friendly but still cool. I happened to be on my way to the store one day and I saw the coolest van I had ever seen. 1987 mitsubishi Vanwagon. I noticed that there was a man putting groceries into this van and I stopped to talk to him about this van. He said that he liked his van and he wasn't going to sell it but he let me look it over and I was then hooked. I needed to find one for myself. After a week or so of looking, I found one on craigslist. I travelled 100 miles one way to look at it and it was in pretty good shape aside from the high idle and tacky early 90's aftermarket graphics. It had 130,000 miles on it. I purchased the van for $800 bucks and drive it home. I immediately corrected the high idle issue with the replacement of the IAC. It did have another issue found after the IAC was replaced, it got around 10 mpg. I chased the problem to some capacitors in the ECM that were leaking. I replaced the ECM and the van is now trouble free. The van made the trip from Washington state to Oklahoma where we live now. I get some weird looks from the locals but its because you just don't see any of these vans around here. I have removed the graphics and it looks pretty good now.
