gsr 1.8 jolting !!!!

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

160 psi on all cylinders

Checked for boost leaks with a smoke machine , no leaks evident

Car is on e85, 32psi making 370kw , motor got built 3 years , does not smoke , idles and runs perfect except for the jolting ..

Wen cold hits 32psi with no problems
As soon as it starts warming up starts to jolt and carries on and back fires ..

That's all I can tell you at the moment as I said I've changed crank angle sensor
Spark plugs
Leads
Coil packs

And jack no need to be a hero , were on hear to help each other not bag each other , just saying

CAS would have been my call if it only plays up when warm, hairline crack expanding and so forth.
On that note, it does sound mechanical, have you done boost leak test with the engine warmed up? Might show something that does not show when cold. Just a thought.
Also do you have an EGT gauge to suggest and issues in the combustion?

Yes I've done a test when it's warm , nothing shows up , cas has been changed but to a second hand one , probley that cas is screwed aswell , it's a very weired problem

How long has it been since the injectors were serviced? Does the car have an afr guage what does it do when this issue happens

afrs are perfect wen idles 14.7-1 as soon as it starts making boost it comes down to 11.2 11.5 coz thats how i tuned it, 3 years ago and never missed a beat until this stupid jolting , i recently replaced injectors to e85 compatible 2200cc then retuned again thats all

change the fuel filter and check/clean the pickup sock. the solvent nature of e85 could have loosened some petrol varnish from the tank and lines which have since possibly blocked the filer but that wouldn't explain the only once warm issue.

fuel filter has been changed, fuel pump is 3 weeks old, lol I've done everything thats why I'm stuck now

Very weird problem indeed mate. Have you had a chance to re check wiring for the fuel pump, also the fuel pump regulator is in good nick as well? Its up to the task of all the extra fuel required and isn't throwing it all down the return once she's nice and warm?. I know, I'm scratching the barrel.....
May also be worthwhile pulling the injectors and checking that the seals are all good, I know you boost leak tested but a lot of things have been fixed in the past by the old pull out and put back in.... Especially when there could be an issue with air, just ask my missus!!!!! Lol
