Hey all,

Just chasing a few bits and pieces to pass DECC (Epa) compliance check.

So I need-

Gsr Dump Pipe
Gsr front Pipe (dump to cat)
Water pipe for a Tdo5 14b
And maybe standard intake manifold

Am located in Wollongong, 2530

Cheers all,

Sean

Are you not the one who WAS ADR37/01 compliant in their avartar on another site?
I dont get why you would need a check if you already have passed?
Why dont you just run E85 and pass easily? :)

Wont you need a VR4 dump pipe to match the 14b? I which case the stock gsr front pipe wont even bolt up

Cool....

Yeah ok, i guess i would need vr4 dump, as for the front pipe, it'd be a cut and shut jobby. Nah, it wasn't me who was ADR37/01. My engineers papers have that i have a bigger turbo and intercooler/piping that complies with ADR37 which is good, but it doesn't have my exhuast mani, ext gate and intake manifold on it.

It's a finnicky situation, it's a compliance check, so basically check my emission gear is as per factory spec, ie- Charcoal cannister, correct Cat, Afm, Oxy sensor, etc. Not so much a test, however if i fail this check, i can then take it for emissions test with all my gear on it. Which could be the plan by the sounds of it.

Car's basically

Forged bottom end
Ported polished head
O/S valves
Modified seats
BC Twin coil valve springs
Big cams
Custom intake mani
Tube ex Mani
Ext Gate
Haltec E8
Custom Cooler and piping

So you could imagine it'll be a drama to mod shit back to factory. And have been in mass debate about what route to take.

Remove EBC, new cat, tune on E85 and it'll pass?

If that's the case i'll get my engineers paper's changed to include everything after the test.

Good Deal!!!
Not sure if all that makes sense, just all kinda blurred out of me.

Cheers, Sean

It doesnt have to have all the factory dump, manifolds or EGR fitted, however you will need the charcoal canister. If you can prove emissions complaince to the IM240 test with what you currently have (with charcoal canister), then changing those parts back to stock is not necessary. The DECC are looking for modificiations to the intake or exhaust systems (emissions) that doesnt have proof of compliance to the prescribed emissons levels in ADR 37/01.

They will also check that you have an ADR compliant catalytic converter and your exhaust noise levels fall under 90db without the use of a temporary noise control device. The DECC are assholes if you make any changes whatsoever to the intake or exhaust system of the car, without prooving that it still meets ADR37/1. If you can get it to pass, they will take photographs and place it on file. If you get inspected again and the items are different to what their photographs show, you could be fined.

You are allowed to have an aftermarket ECU and EBC as long as you are locked out of changing the settings and that they are not within your immediate control whilst driving.

Have you actually had an IM240 emissions test done yet? If not, then I recommend to speak to a good tuner with experience in emissions tuning. 'The Hitman' at Penrith has the most experience with tuning to emissions and isnt far from the Penrith RTA/DECC emissoins testing facility. Call him up, he's a great guy and will steer you in the right direction with no bullsh!t. I dont trust anybody else to tune to emissions other than him.
