Hi guys,

I seem to have some busted (bent) window sill strips on my GSR.

at the front of the front doors, and the rear of the rear doors, the strips are bent upwards, and I cannot see how these are joined to the door itself.

on the other end of the doors, there are screws which hold the stip in place...

(that sounds really confusing lol)

anyway these are the things im talking about, does anyone know how these are fully removed?

Thanks.

They have small fingers that are bent into door frame that keeps them in place Ive got some in the workshop I can take pics of them in a couple of days so you can see how they fit up

They just pull up. Wind the windows down and remove the screw at the rear of the door.

A flatblade screwdriver helps, but they are very easy to bend if you just reef them up. Would new Proton Wira items fit you think Wicky?

I stuffed mine with a flat blade screw driver and ended up searching wrecking yards for new ones.

They clamp on and once on you can slide them into place if need be.

Do you want new ones or are you going to try and repair the old ones?

Proton for those ones.
Search function for the part numbers :)

I managed to secure the last drivers side one in oz a few months back.

Hopefully they have bought in some more stock.

Dan! Andrew at CVAP had a pair from an EVO1 sitting there for you and you never turned up to collect them!!

i know. thats what happens when a full time job ruins your life <_<

having said that, i did email him about them 3 or so months ago, and didnt get a response?

Try a full time job AND keeping a house going!!

Emails don't always work with Andrew - he gets that many of them that the only sure-fire way of getting through to him is to call.

I want the strips over the roof and down the screens!

mine are shot!

as per my previous posts, the proton wira ones are only about $170 for a brand new pair (in comparison to over $400 a pair from mitsubishi). they are the identical part, both black in colour as well, and fit cc lancer GSR perfectly..

ring proton spares and quote part numbers

PW534221 - left side strip
PW534222 - right side strip

both come with brand new clip set to clip in.

You win mate - I'm struggling with two dogs!!!

It looks like alot of work stripping them down - the paint actually looks pretty thick and they're a prick to handle, given their length and how flexible they are. I'm keen to see how yours turn out if you give it a go.

Yeah I'll post up some pics as I go.

No harm in trying. Mine are already off the car.

Back to topic though, any ideas on Josh's original question?
