Hi all, just a quick question.
I've got a 92 gsr that i bought completely stock.
I did the clutch in it and i'm under the impression the gearbox hasn't been tampered with.
On cruise, in 5th, at 100kph the car is doing about 3750rpm and 110kph is about 4000rpm.
I checked the gearbox code page and it is a NRBE.
i doubt the speedo is out, as at 110kph people still pass me..
Has anybody struck this.. i suspect it may have different 5th or FD ratios to what ot should..

There is a few gps based speedo apps to check your speedo. I had my needle off the speedo at one stage and used one to realign the needle
I also think my tacho may read wrong. Maybe yours too?
Jackstransmissions has a video on checking diff ratios at the gearbox, but I think it would be easier to check the rear diff.
Mark the tail shaft. Mark the tyre at the road. Push car 1 full tyre rotation forward and count the tailshaft turns at same time. It will turn either 4 or 3.5 times. Easy, 4 is evo, 3.5 is gsr.

my gsr box sits on 3500 or so at 110 if i remember correctly

edit heres my gsr box doing ~98-100 km

See, there should be a difference.both you guys look like similar rpms. If the gsr is 3500 then the evo should be 3850 or so. If the evo is 3500 then the gsr should be 3150.
One of you guys speedo or tacho is wrong

Jack evl20t has a gsr final drive in his evo box. Evo is 3.50 something while gsr final is 3.9 something so both our readings should be similar
