Just about to put my gto brake upgrade on the GSR, can anyone tell me if it's a straight fit with the brake line from the original brakes or do I have to get another fitting

sorry to hijack but are the fto brakes and upgrade only for the GSR or are they better than the evo 1-3 ones aswell?. again sorry for the hijack

Ive done this conversion on my car. The banjo bolt will need to be shortened apart from that the lines are direct fit.

Evo300- gto brakes are 4 piston with 296mm discs so yeah they will definitely shit on the Evo twin piston jobs

This is the caliper size difference.....

This is the discs.....

Keep in mind that depending on what wheels you are using, that you may need to lengthen studs so you can run a spacer to offset wheels to clear brakes.....You will also need to trim\bend the rear dust covers to accommodate the larger discs

BRUSHED... the calipers wont "bolt in" you will need to get a plate made up for the mounting points coz the GTO caliper bolt spacing are wider than the GSR/EVO caliper bolt spacing

So hope you have some already before you plan to throw them on :)

I already have the brackets for them, just got them made last week. If I could upload a photo with them on my car I would. I bought the longer studs and a 5mm spacer plate, they look tuff under 17" fills the gap nicely. Thanks for your help, I'm glad it's just the banjo bolt.

can we have the drawing with the dimensions, hole spacings, etc so the cnc plasma cutter can rip them out?
what are they made of 10mm plate? and jamo, is the disc centralized within the caliper.
i got subaru 4 spots but will grind that off

I don't have the drawings but the engineer has them. There made from 12mm plate and have been laser cut. I told him to keep the drawing cos there might be few people that want them, they will cost around $150 for the both of them he told me. It cost me $600 to get them to design them and an extra $150 to put the cross threads through the discs

Jack- yes the disc is centralised . I didn't have to grind anything off.No I don't have drawings engineer has them also...Mine are made from 12mm plate too.....
These brakes pull the car up much harder than the twin spots..best mod I've done!

i seen your pics before jamo and i like the setup that the holes have been offset with meat between the holes.
did we just use standard steel plate or is it bisalloy or some harder grade.
what about brake bias, how was this addressed?

i will mock something up in plywood if i cant get drawing. and maybe find some bigger discs as even the 297mm look small behind 18"

The EVO twin piston calipers will more than suffice for the purposes alot of people will be using their cars for... they're actually really good brakes when the right pads are used. With EBC green pads they pulled my car up from 200km/hr at Sandown more than enough times without a problem.

Jack....not sure of the grade of steel used but Im pretty sure its hardened steel of some sort...
As for brake bias I've had no issues with this since doing the job...
I just used good brake fluid and gave them a thorough bleeding and they work perfectly.
I dunno about your comment about the disc not filling out behind the wheel there's not much room there as is, the rears look tiny in comparison.

Sheyne- what you say is correct BUT these definitely shit on the twin piston jobs....

Plus the chance of having the almighty "Wank Factor" of putting bigger brakes on is just something that CAN'T be passed up!! :p

WWhat a funny man....Somehow you have it all wrong there!!
If you see the caliper in the photo you might notice its black as? Umm.....maybe that was from using the car on track flat out all day.Basically cooking the heap of shit-seals and all....You add up the price of new discs, calipers, pads and seal kit...
Now, given the option of this brake setup for cheaper than replacing twin pistons or just replacing twin pistons which at the time was more expensive- which might you choose???

The smarter option for me, was to upgrade...Quiet simple reasoning there I thought?!
Hardly see how the above constitutes the wank factor comments??
Lol....
