gsr rough idle

Car idles very weird when i unplug the afm it runs pretty rough ( i know thats normal) but if i plug the afm in the car idles normal for couple seconds then turns off, if i try to accelerate the car just runs rough and revs don't really go up anyone got any ideas why its doing this?

ive checked lines and doesn't seem to be a vacuum leak but ill double check on the weekend, would there be any other reason? I could swear when I rev it that it sounds like its not running on all cylinders might be faulty plugs

Unplug spark leads one at a time and note the leads that make no difference and the leads that do

did the spark plug test and didn't really seem to make a difference so I don't think that's the issue, but I think maybe this thing on the intake cooler pipe is cause a problem? not sure if it is meant to be plugged in or if it has to be blocked off

If that is on the intake after the afm then yes it should be connected to something or possibly blocked your getting unmetered air in the system

Block it off rocco...thats part of the EGR system from an Evo 3 setup.

ohh so that might be the problem then how do i block it off is there a plug i have to use or just like a bottle cap and some tape or something

U know someone who can weld? Get them to plug it up with a cap

That's 100% the problem

Hose with a big bolt clamped in the end it a quick fix.
