I want to get the tacho working so need to connect the tacho output wire on the wolf ecu i have in one of my cars to make that happen........I have found some pin outs of the std ecu buy searching.

the pin outs suggest the standard ecu tach wire is white and is at pin 31 on a evo123 loom. my question is.....is this an output directly to the tacho from the standard ecu.....or is this an input for the standard ecu.

i dont want to just hook up the output from the wolf to this wire in case it kills something. has anyone used a wolf to run the standard tacho? and did they use this wire?

this wolf ecu hates me........:fuuuuu:

That should go to the tacho mate.

On a VR4 anyway (white also).

Are you running a stock ignitor?
If so, I think the stock ignitor should be sending out an RPM signal.

Anyway, if you tacho is not working, you should be able to connect that to the wolf RPM output OR your ignitor RPM output.

If you really want to confirm if it is the correct wire, pull your speedo out and buzz out the pins from the speedo/tacho to the white wire.

yes mate I am using a stock ignitor. the wolf was in the car when I bought it so I am left with trying to fix up some dodgey wiring.

so do you think that I can run the wolf tach output to the white wire without screwing anything?

I've done the same with a haltec.

White wire all the way. It goes to the tacho and the wolf should run it ok. Unless there are 2 different signal voltages like on a Haltec, Which can be changed depending on which one you need anyhow.
