for the guys who have owned or driven both in near STOCK form, how big are the differences between the evo 1-3 and gsr for driving on the street ?

Is the handling much better with those additional chassis components (the suspension is more or less the same right ?)

Power delivery in the GSR is notoriously torquey, but loses in the top end. I know that the evo keeps pulling at higher revs, but is some of the torque lost ?

And finally, what about cruising on freeway's: Is engine speed still as high at 110km/h ? Perhaps noise is a little more without the bonnet insuliation ?

Thanks in advance

evos are shorter geared than gsr, so they rev harder at 100kms
mine was 3300rpm @ 100kms from memory with 16" wheels

I had a standard GSR before i got my EVO 1. Niether cars had any lag in stock form, and are both heaps of fun on the street, but the evo is so much better in regard to out right acceleration. Plus if you do want to modify iether one in the future, i think the evo is a better platform to start with.
As for hwy cruising, from memory the evo reved 300rpm higher than the GSR @ 100k's.

well when i was at the stage of sleling my gsr, i test drove a few evo's n could not believe the difference in power (2L) n the handling...
but then my gsr had 17's with just super lows... the evo has full custom sports suspension...

but i guess if a 2L was to go in a gsr n it were to have lsd it would be the same...

when i got epa with the gsr, i had to turn it 100% stock, the car was a normal car after that,i did not like it at all (handling/turbo power)...
as for a evo, their stock forum is a hell of alot better...

with evo 100km at 3200rpm

in my gsr at 100 its on 3400rpm wif 17's but that with a evo1 engine and standard gsr gearbox and diffs.

Evo drives more direct and solid than a Gsr, Gsr's seem to roll around alot more. Evo more body strengthening gussets and extra spot welds from factory than the gsr's as for 1.8gsr engine Vs 2ltr Evo 1-3 engine unless you want to spend big bucks on a 1.8 to make it as powerful as the 4g63t your better off buying an evo at best or 2nd best a Gsr 2ltr Evo engine converted.
