I used to have a GSR and have only positive things to say about Tenagah and Race Torque who are both in Wangara, although Race Torque's market is more the Rally side of things.

Hisham has been involved with GSRs' and EVOs' since they have been on the market and if he (or the Tenagah team) can't help you with trouble shooting an issue he will more than likely point you in the direction of someone who can.

I was up at their new workshop last week and it looks fantastic...even better with a GSR, EVO and VR4 in the workshop.

Two of the mechanics drive early Evos' and Hisham drives an EVO III.

If you want to meet some more Perth members perhaps look attend a few motorkhanas at AHG (Airport) or Max Action (Belmont).

Ive known mal for about twenty years and have found him to by a good guy

It would of course be fair game to mention if you have had a bad experience with Mal, if you have then tell us. However Ive not got my head my arse and feel that comment is a little out of line.

cheers

cheers for your help guys, ive had a look at those places and will have to try em out. Right now i mainly use RPW if anyone has heard of it

Cheers

Hi Sharpgsr,

Yeah RPW is good, just a tad expensive on a few items as is Mal Crockenberg. The thing is these people are out there to make money not friends, however I am sure after a bit of repeat business they will 'look after' you the next time you need something major done.

As with Race Torque, Mal is also servicing race crews who expect a lot out of their service and are prepared to pay for it.

Like Zedex, i have been fucked over by RPW. You'll allways here storys about fucked up work and good work.

Also own a GSR, Live in Mandurah

PS: Hi Ant, saw the HP figures you got in the RPW Dyno day, looking good!

theres more to come out of it yet

what do you mean? is there another exhaust leak? :p

:smt019 Nope still the same one... be gone soon hopefully.

I have taken my car to a few places now trying to find my boost leak, i recon its an exhaust leak, but no one can find it, makes me so sad. Been like it now since the start of the year.

Cant wait to see how it goes ant. That car is a freaking beast!

test for it yourslef... you know where the air travels... so find the leak...

how confident are you that its a boost leak... do you have a boost gauge that is indicating this?

another boost leak problem, damn turbo cars - had a problem like this before

its either
a) intercooler pipes/clamps/hoses or the cooler itself (doubtful)
some places can do smoke testing for this

b) vacuum line split or cracked - easy just trace them around and check it out

c) dodgy boost control solenoid -> just try out a cheap $30 T piece boost control tap or borrow one if possible.. make sure you have a boost gauge too to ensure its not set too high

d) exhaust leak or blocked cat is very common

e) another possibility which was the cause of my boosting issues was that the actuator itself was stuffed / stuck and wasnt producing correct boost

A: Done, many times defiantly not the issue.

B: Done as well

C: Done as well

D: Havent done, no idea how to find out.

E: This is possible, as it was discovered i had a lose actuator arm, however after fixing this the actuator seems to open and close freely without issues.

And yes I have a boost gauge in the car, When the car is cold it'll sit around -15psi then work down to -20psi when its hot. However before the issue appeared it would always go to -21 -22 psi Hot or cold, On full boost most of the time it wont go over 16psi (Full Boost is 19PSI) but sometimes it boost spikes and I have seen it as high as 25psi then my ECU goes into Safety mode

I actually sell test kits for truck intercoolers and could test the setup for you in the car.....subject to pipe diameter....trucks have big pipes.

let me know if you want to try it..............no cost involved!! well maybe you could bring a beer. anyway this WILL tell you leak down and how long that takes.
