You are much better off with the bolt on GT35R. Almost identical spool, but the 35 just walks all over the 30 at pretty much every boost pressure.

Spool will depends entirely on the .ar of the turbine housing. If you strap a .83 ar gt35 to a 2.0 litre, expect 10psi boost at around 4500 rpm. If you strap a .63 rear housing, expect 10psi boost around 3800 rpm or so (I believe).

I think GT30's are like 100-200rpm difference in these figures, spool is majorly dependent on your turbine housing.

this was jstyles setup.. he made boost at 5500rpm mate...
very very very very very very laggy!!!!

this was with big cams and a built motor....

gt30.. laggy still...

but it all depends on your tune /cams /compression etc..

whats your setup man?

Well my manifold is standard at the moment but i would ofcourse upgrade it with a new turbo, currently my engine has a 3" exhaust and an Evo 3 motor with small 16g turbo. My friend ran a T04E on his and made 190kw@4s with stock ECU, stock Injectors, stockFuel pump and reg. And I will be looking to do the same if not better than 190kw with upgraded fuel pump, reg. Probibly looking to run 14-16psi with the new setup whichever it is but thats the debate, which will serve its purpose, i like boost by 3800rpm and want a turbo that i can keeep throughout the modifications when i change to forged internals, upgrade cams and go full management in the future. should i just got a T04E??

His friend being Rob Barac! :D

Stainless exhaust housing w/provisions for an external 44mm gate, ballbearing and good to 650whp! Me wants!!! Probably my next turbo here.

i run a gt35r .82 rear housing it makes 10psi @ 4000rpm and full boost @ 4600rpm

this is in a cordia with a std vr4 4g63 motor with 272 cams and gears..

i had scm61 before this just for a comparison 10psi @ 3700rpm and full boost @ 4300rpm before i had adj cam gears..

hope this helps.

Options, Options.... alot to look at really, I'll have to have a good think about all of this.

Thanks for your insite fellas.

if its a tdo5 20g its pretty much known as a SLEEPER 16g in the states..
also similar to what ATP makes (i think he calls it the sierra tdo5)

anyway, good for about 200kw's i'd say on pump gas...
great spool, like stock

if its a tdo5/6 hybrid 20g.. a bit laggier, but more power
known to make around 220+ kw's with supporting mods..

problem is that they are old style turbo's and will only take around 27psi max.. but alot of stress is placed on the thrust bearing (only very small).. and the shaft is also a problem (like all mitsu turbo's)..

is it a trust tdo5 20g? or a mitsu hiflowed?

Hmmm yeah im going thru the hole chooseing turbo thing atm aslo.

prety much every question i had has been coverd in this thread now :)

Just want to know if anone has had any splid pulse turbine housing experiance with any of these turbos?

hi all

i have an scm 61t not on the car yet thinkin about instaling it. ppl say its like a gt35 and it wont creat boost till about 4000rpm. it this correct
