Bit of a long shot but I bought a GT3582R for my 2.3 and I'm having trouble tracking down a rear housing for it to fit the GT pumps manifold I've got on...would prefer to keep the manifold so just looking for a rear housing if anyone can help out! I've already tried bulls eye performance they no longer make them :(

Cheers
Mike

Go a t3 manifold. Problem with your situation is the external gate. Otherwise, fp turbo have nice rear housing with a td05 flange.

I don't mind getting the external gate...but if possible ill try finding the housing with internal gate. Just sent FP an email hopefully they can help me! Cheers mate

This is a GT3076 with a GT Pumps .7 exh housing with the 34mm door.
It has a drilled & tapped donut welded on it that bolts to the Garret centre.

Cheers !

I got the idea off a mate who's running a holset hx35 with a BEP rear housing on his stock manifold and that set up works great. If I can't find something like that to suit this turbo I'll be selling it and getting the holset.

I don't think it'll be as efficient as a GT35 with a proper .82 housing on a T3 manifold.

The tdo5 type exhaust housings always seem very restrictive. Great for spool but with such a large front end you'd be close to surging at low rpms where the turbo spools so much that the engine can't take it in OR you'd be losing so much top end due to the lack of flow in the rear which would increase backpressure and engine EGT.

What about a TDO5 -> T3 flange adaptor? You can then slip in an external gate pipe in between.

I like that idea Baz the adaptor I'll look into it! Is there anyone on the forum who has done this? Would love to know how it went if there were any issues with clearance etc

Here is one.

I've had one made in mild steel for about $200.00 back in the days.
Mainly labour costs.

Quite easy to do.

Basically need 2 flanges, pipe, support brackets and external wastegate flange and pipe.
Then depending on your turbo position, you can angle it or have a bend in it to suit.

Let me know if you need anyone to make it, I can give you the contact of the guy who made it for me.
