GTO/3000GT Brake conversion

Help Support 4GTuner:

PWR used to supply the alcons an aps stuff to the super cars might be worth giving them a call an they are sort of local to you, (Yatala).

As it is track driven the most important thing is to have the same offset wheels front to rear.

This will ensure that I can rotate the tyres front to rear instead of having to change the tyres on the rims.

Does anyone have a price indication of FTO or RVR hubs?

I assume they can't be bought individually from Mitsubishi.

I don't see why they couldn't be bought individually from mitsi - the dsm hubs used to convert vr4s to 5-stud in the states can be.

Get an rvr chassis number, head down to mitsi and ask them.

yeah i would think they are availible.. they wont be cheap... last quote i got for stub axels they were around the retail price was around the $300-$400 mark each..

i decided to do the GTO/3000gt brake and 5 stud conversion. Deffiently not the easiest thing to do in the world and has taken quite a few months to do. i measured and designed the brackets myself and got a fabricator to make them up for me. Fronts were the easy part it was just the rears that proved to be difficult. as i decided to modify the standard handbrake with a hyraulic setup and tap it back into the lines as the origional callipers used a cable set up that the gto rear calipers dont have. Has anyone ever got a cable handbrake setup with the gto/3000gt rear calipers if so im intrested to know as well :)

If you have an E39A vr4 you can fit the complete GTO rear trailing arms and use the drum type handbrake setup.

I'd be interested to know the bolt spacing on the GTO caliper mounts and the offset of the mounts from the disc centre line, s I've been lent an FD3S front brake setup and the calipers look very similar (also made by sumitomo).

The FD3S calipers have a 158mm bolt spacing (centre to centre) and 35mm from the disc centre line to the closer surface of the caliper mounts.

easiest by far is getting e4-6 front arms/knuckle and pressing your 4-stud hub into it.

failing that, buy sikwpn's setup. its all there, ready to go.

Dropped my wheels and hub off today at the brake shop.

I have supplied him with a set of Brembo Calipers and also some R32 GTST 4 pot calipers and he is going to work out the best combination between the 15 amd 16 inch wheels.

On the 15s he believes a 305mm disc and on the 16s a 320mm disc.

with the right wheels you will be able to fit those size rotors.
when i had the willwoods I was about 2mm off fitting a 294mm rotor inside a 15"
my mate has 305s in 15s on his datsun race car
