I got double fisted this afternoon. 3/4 of the car looks like someone used it for target practice with a hammer. :(

I know a good panel beater!

Sorry to hear it if you got caught in it. Glad my VR4 was garaged...

My mate had his Pulsar parked on the street. Countless dents, cracked front windscreen and a smashed mirror. Ouch! Took out my shed's window also. Never seen hail like that before in my life. Was so out of the blue too, it's sunny and warm one minute. Within the space of five minutes I reckon it went dark and started the downpour. Melbourne!

Insurance fix and respray?

Yeah the usual shit - 2 quotes blah blah blah. Its starting to dry and the damage is extensive - the whole right side of the car, bonnet, a pillars and roof have all look like someone has let fly with a tommy gun full of golf balls.

Wouldnt suprise me if its a complete respray, though Im pretty sure the rear/front bumpers + left side doors are ok....

I really dont want to use just cars recommended repairer - back when I had my integra they said they were going to replace my bonnet and just fixed the smashed one, then they hd to replace that one with a "new one" then the new one had ripple marks in it. Took it back three times - steer clear of AAA in burwood.

nasty... i was driving a truck watering the grass at albert park, was deafening when it hit, didnt see any really really big stones though,

there was cars parked near the aquatic centre when i drove out that would have had water in them for sure, water was 6 inches up the doorat least

took some pics with my phone will upload when i get em off

got stuck in the storm this arvo as well on the Monash and then major traffic jam on Kings Way. My bonnet copped a heavy beating- luckily my car is booked in for a respray next week.

Some pictures i took. First 2 is my bonnet vents, broken! And some pic of other cars-celica gt4.

This is what insurance companies don't like...lets just hope peoples excesses ain't too over the top

The excess isnt the problem. The problem is the monkeys they have working at their recommended repairers that are fresh out of tafe/ dont give a shit

i slept the whole day yesterday and wont up at like 9pm.. only to hear about this massive storm from the internet and watching vids lolz... im going to chk my car today hopefully its ok !!!

Yeah the TME got it hard bonnet, roof, boot and both pillars rooted.

What can you do

Blame god and the bureau of meteorology.

I actually checked the forecast before I left to go out yesterday on the website. It said - "Cloudy, isolated shower and thunderstorms 26 C. It did not say - "Hurricane force winds that will strip fresh leaves off trees, golf and tennis ball hail, major flooding for most of the CBD.

Ahhhhh.... I cant even look at it without feeling sick anymore.:(
