EVO ECU plugs straight into the GSR loom and can run a 2L if you have 510cc's and 609 AFM, and the correct sensors

Think ill run with the hal tec then i can get rid of the air flow an later on when i throw some more coin at it it will be alot easier to tune etc.
I priced up an ECU AFM an 510 injectors out of nz an it was only about $400 for anyone interested tho

The Haltech harnesses are readily available as a brand new item, you don't have to buy an ecu as well. Off the top of my head they are around $250.00 for a E6X patch loom harness only for the GSR. You can get this from any authorised haltech dealer. I have done pletny of GSR's with E6X and they go hard.
I just read though that you have a VR4 Galant / GSR is this correct? That being the case, you can't use an E6X as the Galants have additional inputs / outputs that the E6X doesn't provide.

You have to upgrade to an E8 or E11 on the VR4 Galants if you want to go haltech.

Na, he has a Lancer GSR, not a Galant GSR so he can use his existing GSR engine loom with an E6X and GSR patch loom no problem to run a VR4 4g63t engine. I've done it before as per the 4G63T into GSR tech sticky, and even used a Haltech E6X for that conversion (That GSR btw now pulls 326kw atw after Micks Motorsport had a tune of it).

Anyhow, htgsr is correct. The GSR ECU will run a 4G63T engine but not very well... just good enough to get up and running and drive the car about... been there and done that years ago. An EVO ECU will be better, but a Haltech E6X with plug and play better again considering he's looking at future mods and tuning.

Stick with it mate, every now and then an E6X comes up on a forum or EBay cheap. Last one I saw sold with an EVO patch loom for only $750!!! But the bargains are few and far between as they get snapped up very quickly. Budget for a few hundred bux more.

Is that on standard internals? or forged?
The gsr ECU is running way to lean, im still traliering it about ATM dont wanna do anymore damage to the ppistons than i already have
