Do any of you guys have a good recomendation for a tuner in perth , must be upto date with this flex fuel bizzo

Oh yeah RPW is out of the question !!!

Self tuned mine in an hour on a rented dyno because I couldn't find anyone. I've done Andre Simon's courses over the last few years, so I could dial you in a safe base map to get you going, but would not want to try a full power tune on someone else's car. Mine hasn't blown up yet, but it has been a long road to even get it half good without owning a dyno. I know The Haltec platinum series well.

Mike Ward is very good with Haltec, but after many attempts to pay for his time to tune my car, he hasn't come to the party. Racetorque will rent you a dyno and and operator, if you want to tune yourself or bring someone in to do it.

Flex fuel is no big deal, tune on 98, tune on E85, then the ECU works out any blend in between.

Thats it. Dont show them what you got

Its not for the drag car its for a bloke i know who is yet to signup as he works away , rpw took 2.5 years to build his stroker for his vr4 !!

They then topped it off by using stock size cooler piping and a 18g tunning it on e85 cranking the boost !!

It astounds my on how retarded they can be , it makes me want to start a workshop of my own

Thanks for the info , why had this mike ward been so hard to get to tune ?

Its not my car and needs a full power tune once the turbo and cooler piping has been upgraded

Don't know why Mike has been a hard nut. He was recommended to me by several people, and I had spoken and txt him to set up a tune day. Then when it got close and I tried to contact him to confirm, he went AWOL. Months later he contacted me and asked if I still needed it done, I said yes and that's the last I heard from him.

Another bloke has come to mind. Try the GTI Performance Centre. Simon there knows Haltec well, not sure on his attitude to 'off the street' clients, but worth a shot. He only has a 2WD dyno from memory, not sure what your trying to get tuned.

Its a vr4 galant , the owner will be joining soon i told him id try to find a good tuner for when he upgrades turbo and few other things. Rpw built it thats why it wont be going back there hahaha

T&R Green Automotive.

They do a lot of race/specialised vehicles. They also are an authorised haltech dealer.

I've spent $200 on a lot less. Not a sponsored plug for these guys, but there's lots of guys asking about tuning, these guys are passing on a lot of knowledge for not a lot of money. And cut his teeth on 4G.

From a member letter:

Learn how to Road Tune your car with HPA's 10 Step Process
While the dyno is the best place to tune your car, it might not always be possible or financially viable to do so. Some cities have no local dyno so unless you are prepared to travel some distance, access to a dyno may simply be impossible. In these cases tuning your car on the road is your only option, and this course will show you how to achieve results that can often match those achieved on a dyno.

Road tuning is an important tool for any tuner to have in his or her skill set, and even with access to a dyno, we still recommend that every tune is checked and confirmed on the road or track. Our road tuning course will give you the necessary skills to tune any engine from start to finish on the road. In particular you will learn:

How to configure your ECU to suit the engine
What numbers to put in the fuel and ignition tables before you start
How to get your engine running for the first time
Driving techniques to accurately control and adjust engine load and rpm on the road
How to tune the fuel map in steady state
How to optimise the ignition table
How to use datalogging to aid your tuning

Our tutor Andre started his career with no local dyno and spent many years developing his own techniques to get the best results from road tuning. This course lets you come up to speed quickly, benefiting from his 15 years of tuning experience.

After completing this course you will have the confidence and specialist skills required to properly calibrate your ECU on the road, but more importantly you will also learn HPA’s '10 Step Process’ which will take you through a tuning job from start to finish, ensuring you don’t miss any critical stages.

BONUS Worked Example: As a bonus we have included a full worked example. You get to watch as Andre Simon tunes a Toyota Altezza from start to finish with helpful explanations along the way.

Remember like all of our courses, this comes with a 30 day money back guarantee.
