Hi Guys,
I'm looking at a new ECU for my Evo 3 ATM. It was suggested to me that I have a look at the new Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 kit.
Has anyone got one of these or know anyone using one? Pros? Cons?

they are a nice unit, even better stretch to the 2000 if you can(but may not necessarily for your application).
Haltech have really lifted their game over the last few years and the platinum series are nice units for sure.
Their technical support is also good.

As mentioned above, but I wouldn't worry about goin to the 2000 unless you got serious work, my mate is running the 1000 in his gsr and makes over 450hp

I run a ps 1000 it is more than suficent , it has every option your going to need and it comes with a plug in loom for your car, talk to rpw they will have one in stock i reckon.

David Buschur has one on his Bad Bish 600 hp stroker and loves it

Thanks guys, I'd heard that Haltech had lifted their game but I just needed a bit of comfirmation. Obviously I'd like a MoTeC unit but ...$$$$$$.
I'll give Dave at RPW a ring as well.
Cheers,

Why not run ecmlink? Plenty of people are running 9's and 10's using it. Unless you really want to data log a lot more aftermarket sensors than ecmlink can support and really work on the efficiency of a setup doing a lot of R&D like Baz does with his vr4, ecmlink does everything you need. You can go lite, full version and go Speed density as well.

Unless you going a big dollar motec or similar setup, ecmlink is easier to setup than the middle range ecu's and you can retain more of the stock controlls with out rewiring of installing new sensors.

Have a look at the ViPEC PnP. Very similar to the autronic PnP board..

Nothing against Haltech - I run an older E11v2 and think it's fine... Rob Barrac also runs an older Haltech in his drag monster. Very capable ECU.

You have to weigh up BFYB, who will tune it (where they are in relation to you) and if you want to adjust the tune yourself (software ease of use).
