headwork - camshaft tunnel boring?

Guys just want to get some understanding on 'standard practices' in headwork.

Is camshaft tunnel boring performed when changing camshafts? My logic suggests that yes it should be. However is this standard practice, or going overboard?

Maybe if u have cooked the head. But yeah I would think it's not necessary.
