Hopefully someone is online now who can help me out...

Just blew a freaking heater hose... and no one around me stocks an aftermarket replacement. Mitsubishi near me probably have one (they had radiator hoses/thermostats in stock there) but they don't know the part number. It also takes them forever to find it!

I need to know either the part number for the heater hose that goes from the t/stat housing to the firewall, or the hose kit. I already tried one from the US galant forum/google that doesn't exist in australia. Supercheap can't get the gates replacement and the lead time from repco is two days, which I have found with my local to mean next tuesday.

Alternatively if someone knows of a dealership or other shop that is well versed in mitsubishi part numbers I will give them a ring. Might try meek now.

Does anyone know if the evo 1/3 hose kit is the same, or at least close enough that I can get away with it?

Cheers!

I got some generic hose, hopefully should tide me over until mitsubishi eventually find the part number.

My only concern is the bends in the hose, it is very tight around the engine, especially near the firewall (there is about 2 inches between the hose inlet and the intake manifold), I guess I'll just make it long and hope it doesn't kink.

Thanks

I cut mine oversize and put a loop in it, that way there's no sharp bends and plenty of flex to allow the engine to move.

get some Stainless heater hoses/pipe made up, with 4" of hose on each end... less likely to break but more clamps needed..

or you get those stainless steel overlays that go over the rubber generic hose to prevent it kinking around sharp bends ;)

I know I had a look but the gates part doesn't look right (in the book). Both places near me that can order them have them special order, so if it's not right I can't return it. Which is a bit shit if they say it's the right part and it isn't, but that's how it is.

i have ordered the gates ones before, so i know they are right, they went on to my car with no issues...and if you order at super cheap and they aren't right you can return them
