Just wondering where the intake to the heater/ aircon is INSIDE the cabin?
My ECU board (??) some circuit board near the ecu anyway, melted and completely stunk the car out. Now 3 weeks on, the car itself smells ok, but when the fan turns on for heating or aircon, the smell is seemingly "stuck" in the vents and it continues to stink the car out again. I have been driving with a beany on, and all the windows down but can't do this forever. I thought if I could locate the intake vent, and clean it, or put some sort of deodoriser in, it would help?

On a side note, Zac at techsport did some soldering on an EVO 3 board. Car now runs as normal, but since then, the seatbelt light stays on the whole time - even when seatbelt is plugged in. Geoff and Zac can't see how that light has anything to do with the board, but just thought I'd check here if anyone new of things I can try to fix?

Thanks in advance

The fan intake is behind the glove box, just spray deodoriser below the glove box towards the fire wall with the fan flat out. That should help you a bit...

Check that the seat belt plug is plugged in under the center console?

Hey Bjorn - long time no see!

First of all - was Zac able to tell you why the ECU fried itself in the first place? I'd be checking for any loose/faulty earths. Mine died because I missed bolting up an earth - very simple (and stupid!!) thing to do...

Not sure exactly why the seatbelt light would be illuminated when the belt is plugged in - my guess would be that the earth or signal wire which is needed to tell the cluster that the belt is clipped in has come loose or is faulty. Could be something to do with Zac's soldering - maybe he's accidentally linked something to do with the belt with whatever he fixed for the original concern.

My position would be - if the car wasn't doing it when you took it to them - and it's doing it after you got it back from them - they should be rectifying the problem....

Thanks Chaser, G'day Shayne,

Techsport said they will look at it, and they won't be charging, even if they think they are. It's just hard to get out there at the moment.

Chaser, I haven't checked the plug and will shortly, but we never touched it so why would it happen now? I personally think it has something to do with the wiring.
