HEL EVO III braided clutch line - Fault???

Hi guys

Today I grabbed a brand new HEL EVO III braided clutch line to connect to the OEM hydraulic clutch hard line.
For some reason the HEL cable has a flare fitting inside the end of it, which obviously isnt supposed to be because the oem hard line has a flared pipe inside its connection.
I grabbed 3 other spare oem hard clutch lines to check and all the oem hard lines have a flared pipe end.

Although the HEL also has a flare inside it, it will screw into the oem line, albeit pushes the oem flare lip ass about and causes it to crack when tightened.

The HEL clutch line needs to have a male dome type end so it can rest into the oem's flare.

Anyone else here have a HEL clutch cable they can check?

Just checked my Goodridge line, the fitting accepts the OEM flared fitting.
Seems like the HEL is defective.
 
Thanks guys, are either of your Goodridge lines not fitted yet?
Can you confirm it has a dome end on it so when it screws in, it will butt into a flare?

Thats how the HEL is supposed to look inside the connector but its a damn flare!!!
Looks like Im getting a Goodridge line instead now :)

Bundy tube, sometimes called Bundy pipe, is type of double-walled low-carbon steel  tube manufactured by rolling a copper-coated steel strip through 720 degrees and resistancebrazing  the overlapped seam in a process called Bundywelding. It may be zinc- or terne- coated for corrosion protection. It is used in automotive hydraulic brake lines  in cars manufactured in the USA since the 1930s. A 1969 study by the SAE  recommended the replacement of Bundy tube with 90-10 copper-nickel alloy UNS  C70600 (Kunifer pipe) because of corrosion concerns.[1]  Kunifer pipe has since been adopted by European automakers Volvo ,Rolls-Royce , Lotus Cars , Aston-Martin ,Porsche , and Audi .[2]  Bundy pipe retains the advantage higher rigidity, which means less volume expansion under pressure.


I didn't know all that...and i never heard of kunifer pipe
 
Yea looks like a little bean thats got the flare both sides, they are they worst idea ever, if it moves when you put he 2 fittings together can gouge both of them when you tighten it
 
Gave HEL Australia a call and explained to them the issue, BTW theres no lil bean thingy or an insert in the kit

The line they provide has a universal adapter with both concave and convex fitting on the end, he was explaining to me its to suit both types, if you tighten the nut it will seal against each other

They use the same fitting on all their clutch and brake line kits (i checked my brake lines and they are the same concave/convex end)

Na the HEL rep was tugging your dick. They might say 'universal' but it doesnt fit properly with a normal flare. Their fittings might work OK when you butt them up against other HEL connections, but not in real life 'universal' situations. You seen it with your own eyes Mik. It bent the OEM flare ass about and turned a concave into a convex and thinned the flare lip to the point it cracked when tightened.

Anyhow, I said fuk it and ending up buying a new Goodridge line for $50 delivered.... and its dark blue lol
$50 is just an hour labour. I'd rather spend that that waste time fuking about trying to reflare a new end on the oem clutdch hard line or worry about a shitty HEL connection lol :thumbsup:

I know i seen it in person, i dont approve on it either

Reason why it cracked was coz i over tightened it :p

Just wierd how alot of people are using them without any faults :wacko:

Especially their brake lines :unsure:
