Hi Guys,

Signed up to learn more about a 4G94 SOHC to 4G63T conversion. I own a 2002 Pajero Io that runs the 4G94 SOHC north/south mated to a 5 speed gearbox and 4wd transfer case.

so I must retain current gearbox and bellhousing as no evo came out with north/south (very few modern mitsu's have) and must use an engine that is 2002 build or later.

Will be posting pics galore

Bob

hey bob maybe even look at other less comon mods like forging up the 4g94 and slapping on a mivec head and turbo with custom management would be interesting to say the least

I agree, keeping the standard4G94 block lets me have some flexibility with rego etc, i.e. no weird engine number changes.

loads of guys have done the 4G93+4G92Mivec head swap with less than great results and it will be hard to match the low rpm bottom end torque of the 4G94.

Was thinking about a 4G93T DOHC running gear bolt onto 4G94 SOHC block but since found that the 4G63 mates to the 4G93 gearbox in FWD, might be able to mod an evo block to my bellhousing.

see what happens, either way could be a good resource for the RWD guys.

good to see another gold coast member!
