Hi All,

My name is Cael and I drive (not much rite now) a 2001 Proton Satria GTi

Was on the protonGTIforums.com site which simply packed up and shut down recently... bit of a bummer as it was a wealth of info on the 4G93 and the GTi...

Anyway, i'm from Sydney and this is my ride:

Yeh I have seen a few and ultimately that's where i wanna go... soon...

Front bar - you don't like it? I didn't like it at first cuz of the degree of rice and how far the wheel base was from the nose of the front bar: it makes it so i gotta go slower and get bigger angles over humps and steep driveways... that sucks
I had no choice really.. had a stock one, but my sister reveresed into it with her civic which had a towbar... that destroyed it topping it off, AAMI wouldn't cover the cost of a replacement manufacturer bar so I had to source a new one with the pathetic amount of money they paid me out. Only joint was CarMate (BUNCH OF F***** WAN*S) who had that bar in stock. So i had to get it, cuz noone else had another bar for it :-(

Coilovers = Racing Logic - Racing Complex for Lancer CE/CC (2 bolt top plate) adjustable camber, height, damping and spring rate - all independently

Yeh, would be nice, but have seen 2 of these done AWD including that sleek lil CHGDUP (automatic, turbo 4G93 with AWD conversion) and apparently its not real economic...

Next two things to do are Battery Relocation to boot for full CAI and then getting the bastard bored & stroked.

If i still have the motor when i get my fulls, ill go forced then

Hi cael welcome mate seen you on protonGTiforums nice GTi you got there like ever 1 said all you need is some BOOST :) to bad you can't get it now.
 
Mate I wish I had a car that good when I was on my P's.
Keep it as is then in a couple of years put on 93t in there.
As it is I reckon I'd be a lot of fun to drive.

Re: the bar, why didnt you buy a second hand original? I've heard nothing but bad things about carmate kits not fitting properly and way outta shape.

Just to add to the conversation, I had a carmate front bar a few years back and fitment/quality were great...

Are you in Sydney? I gotta get some plumbing done... need to find a place to get intake and possibly plenum...

Yes, my plan is to keep it as it is till i can afford the stroker kit and work (gettin RPW to do it when sufficient $$$ builds up), then when I can get a snail I'll go forged and boost this baby!

I love this car, but since I bought it, there has been a lot of work to do to it... but I only have a few more things to sort out, then when my license is no longer 'suspended' i will be hitting the track to see how it performs.

I will need advice on tyres at that stage, cuz as stiff as she is... the tyres are pathetic on it atm...

Power figure with old mods list was 92Kw :(... less than impressive...
mind you, the car then was:

Stock ECU with GREDDY E-Manage Blue piggyback
stock injectors
stock pump
had the AFM not MAP sensor, so had restricted intake...

it was a hot day
Adrian from TODA tuned it there on their dyno... took him 2 hours... so i don't think he really did a full tune and i don't think he was familiar with the engine at all...

R: the bar, My sister reversed into my car with her civic (which had a tow-bar attached FOR WHO THE FU*K KNOWS WHY) and ruined my front bar. So i made a claim through AAMI who then said due to poor repairs in the past, any repairs could not be guaranteed, so therefore would not repair or replace my front bar! so instead, they paid me out $1150 and said that was how much they got quoted to repair/replace...

BULLSH!T - a brand new bar from Proton was $1450 UNPAINTED - Fog Lights $200 for the pair, WTF???!!! - Badge was $350... rediculous...

so had no choice buit to go this bar cuz of the fact i could not afford a new one, nor did one pop up anywhere or could i find one out there... sucked...

but that bar is rock solid, fits sweet as (except the bit at the front of the bonnet, inch gap there which pisses me off, but i got it painted differently under it so it blends better now...

CARMATE FKN JOKE FOR SERVICE THO! DON'T GO THERE UNLESS YOU WANT A BUNCH OF FU(KWITS TALKING SH!T ABOUT YOU RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE CUZ THEY MADE A MISTAKE AND DAMAGED YOUR PROPERTY AND WON'T ADMIT THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE... bunch of wankers

I remember when proton launched the Gti down here in the Gong.
What sort of power + torque would the stroker kit give you with your mods.
 
well it can be bored + stroked out to 1.96 and it results in much greater mid range torque, but you lose a bit down low (<2500rpm) but in terms of power, well the 93 has all its power & torque around 5500, and redlines at 7000, stroker kit allows the engine to get up to 7900 before "redline" so output power is much higher thanks to the extra revs...

RPW did a Lancer (SOHC 4g93*) and got it to 1950cc and it jumped from 120HP to 145 with the stroke, intake and headers, so thats about a 20Kw gain from those mods... but mine are a little more extensive than that and base power from my car is 145HP stock... so ill hope, with the stroke, to hit 200HP at the fly, which would come down to like.. 160-170HP at the wheels? hopefully... 92kw first run, this time, at least 115kw.

Torque... cannot say, but much greater than stock, noticed that straight away from the first time i bolted the head on, the cams feel really good... just needed the intake to back it up!

Tell me... am i dreaming?

Hi man the machine is all good got 140kw atw at 10 Psi il be upgrading to a bigger turbo soon :p and more power here i come :) yeah im in sydney best place to go to is western mufflers in fairfield they did everything on my car , they can make you a intake etc www.westernmufflers.com.au/

140kwatw?!?!? farrrkkkk nice figures for 10psi! stock conrods??? I hear they are the first part to fail when you boost or stroke... then the clutch..

I might just give them a call and see what they quote... hopefully they remember your engine bay, then reduce the quote cuz I won't have an intercooler :)

Well.. hopefully crack 105kw atw before the stroke just with current mods... getting it tuned and tweaked at TweakIt in Mona Vale, they had ZomBie's toy there not too long ago(if anyone know's Joel and his GTi - please help me get in touch with him!!!). ZomBie's GTi is pretty much the same as mine, with a custom intake... and they tuned it there and he hit 112atw with a very nice curve to the graph...

They said it would take about 3-4 days to tune it properly, so I guess they are gonna do a better job than TODA... 2 hours... pfft...

Hi cael yeah 140 atw on stock conrods ,well they can take up to 10 psi, i know this guy same setup as me with a haltech ECU runing 11 psi for 4 years now with no problem and his got 150 ATW with a td04, i have replaced
the clutch to exedy heavy duty to take the power

yeah give them a call and say Johnny with the proton GTi did the turbo setup with you and he told me to come there he should look after you :)
