I sort of figure I really should introduce myself. Found this place via work. Ringing around for VR4 parts/shells someone mentioned looking up Team4G. So I did and it all seems really nice and I'll stay.

Now to introductions! I'm Adam, from outer Eastern Melbourne. I'm a panel beater. I was driving an '89 J-Spec Galant VR4 before I fucked it; but I'm in the process of fixing it so hopefully I'll be zipping around in it soon again! Keep an eye out for the work log I'll post once it's done. Assuming all goes to plan, I'll be doing a colour change.

Aaaaand that's it!

hey adam and welcome sorry to hear ur car.

is it repairable or not?

good luck with it and keep us updated

Yeah it is repairable thankfully. I wasn't going to originally, and had a look at some other Galants for sale, but there wasn't anything as decent as that. It's great mechanically, with an awesome interior, didn't come across anything nearly as good in those departments.

Welcome and good luck with it all. Looks like a big job. Are the chassis rails good?

Nope. :(

Got a front cut lined up so I'll be chopping the left rail and skirt. Should be able to save the quarter panel and rear bar too. Then it's just a matter of getting some steering control arms and suspension, but I think I'm good for that too right now.

I'm thinking too, seeing I'll have the engine out about doing a colour change. I'll pretty much be repainting the whole thing anyway,I think a nice change is in order. You seen those new Tritons? Nice light blue with silver moulds. I was thinking about doing the body that blue with the bars and moulds that silver. Then chase up some new style chrome Mitsub badges, do it like a newie.

Thanks for the welcome too guys!

Bayswater/Heathmont area. Outer Eastern Melbourne. Kinda near Baysy Maccas. Vic Street Scene meet there on Tuesdays, I believe.
