Hi guys,

I have a Lancer CC Wagon with a 4G93T.

A few months ago, I started having this problem and thought it might just go away. (My car sometimes heals itself!)

If I am coming to a stop, when I press in my clutch, it sounds as if my engine revs so low that it just stalls. Note that the clutch is DISENGAGED as this happens.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Wes

I'm pretty sure if you do a search for this sort of issue, you'll find that it's been covered in other threads. This is a pretty common problem with the '63s and '93s.

I not 100% but....
adjust the bis screw, when i swapped around bov's atmo to plumb back or vice versa i get the same problem. Turning it clockwise raises the revs from memory.

Usually its the above, if not.. Similar symptons were happening to me with my 8MR bov just recently, you might have a very small boost leak somewhere.

Of course you could raise the idle using the screw up to 1500 ant it would be fine (a figure I just plucked out of the air), but the key would be finding out why when you disengage the clutch it wants to drop off and die.

you got an atmo bov?? if u boost then clutch in, it will run rich as fuck for a few secs and die..

how do you go about solving this issue, assuming you want to keep the atmo valve?

Hey guys,

Sorry, been wicked busy... Didn't mean to be rude. Thanks for all the replies, much appreciated!

I don't think it's a BOV problem (I have atmos) because it is only when I am slowing down (gear engaged, no throttle) then clutch release, not boosting then release.

I'm going to go try and unplug the ISC and see how that goes. Will post back to let you guys know how it goes!

Thanks!

Wes =)

OK team, so I finally got to play around with it just then. Loooong day...

Anyways, if I plug/unplug the TPS/ISC plug, there is no difference in how the car performs. I revved it a bit and it does the same thing either way. I also took it for a test drive, no different than with it plugged in/out. Only difference is that there is a "Check Engine" red light on in my dash! Haha.

So I'm assuming it must the ol' ISC problem then. I should probably do the multimeter test on the plug to make sure there's no electrical fault first before I go and get the part...

Thanks for all the help so far - much appreciated! Wes =)
My tps is at 17% when it should be 12 or so and its not casuing that problem, mate play with that bis screw its probably simple as that.
TPS should be set at 10.5
