Hey there, Ive been on this forum for a couple of months now bought a few things here and there and realised that I hadnt introduced myself properly til now...

So here goes Im from Perth and have been into Evos since I bought my 7 3 years ago. Id been doing the occasional track day in it but decided at the end of last year that I should give it away as it was just a matter of time til something broke or Id prang it and the missus wouldnt be happy about damaging the family runabout.
So she let me buy this 3. I pretty much bought it off Ebay from a guy in Victoria. It arrived here with the head and the rest of the stuff sitting in the boot ( broken cambelt), and a shagged clutch.
Ive done all the work myself to get it going again and done a few other things to it as well i.e. battery relocation, Fidanza flywheel, RPM clutch, BC cams, boost controller, Pod filter, Catch can new valves and guides in the head etc. Ive nearly done a couple of big cockups along the way but thankfully to a couple of guys here, I was headed off at the pass
Things to add, but probably next year, are Racing Logic coilovers, R-comps and slotted front discs.
I thought CT9As were good, but these 3s are a sweet thing.
Cheers

What's a yellow plate?, does the car not look authentic? Not being a smart ass at all as I don't know a lot about 3's, you probably know more about them than me which is why I ask.
The car was imported into the country about 2years ago by an import company who the previous owner purchased from.

Cheers

Sorry I wasnt being a smart arse, I was just enquiring if it was indeed a genuine Evolution 3 that was yellow plated.

Now the yellow plate is the plate they put on the car from the importer that has all of the import/compliancing information on it. (Ive also seen them different colours i.e. green/red I think) A yellow plate goes onto a privately imported vehicle from another country (usually Japan and NZ) and you must have lived and owned the vehicle in that country for at least one year BEFORE you can bring it back with you. There is more to it but this is really your intro thread...

You see the Genuine Yellow plate import Evo 3 GSR is very coveted thing to own as there is less than 20 in Australia and hard to find. So if indeed your IS a genuine Yellow plate you have scored well!

The yellow plate Evo3 is a great conversation starter and unfortunately one of the most hotly debated topics on the Mitsubishi forums in Australia!

Just do a search for the key words "Yellow Plate" Or "Import plate" and see what shows up...

Are you able to start a members rides thread and show more pics/details of your car?
Some engine bay shots for the rubber Neckers would be appreciative as well....

I would ask the mob not to start up any fierce debate on this members car in this section however I do like controlled discussion....maybe elsewhere though.....

Cheers
