Would love to only 1 thing stopping me, NSW P Plate Restrictions, Ill get the handling, exterior and interior up to scratch by that time i should be sweet to do the conversion,

Try saving during that time because one of two things will happen:

1) you'll actually have the money to do the GOD DAMNED INSANELY EXPENSIVE conversion (Expect around 10k if you're welding in 4wd)

2) You'll wake up and go buy a 99 Galant VR4. :D Which just happens to be 2.5 litre not 2.0 litre :)

or a not so distant third:

3) Petrol will be $20.86/L and everyone will ride skateboards.

VR4 4WD Bolts straight up, the only thing i know of that is different is the Tunnel that runs the Exhuast and Tail Shaft and 2 capture studs,

Hahaha The newer model VR4's dont do it for me they look to much like a magna, Only if it was as simple to import a Sport GT i wouldnt have to do the conversion,

my brother has a HJ v6 galant and has also considered a TT 4wd conversion down the track when the stock v6 blows.

You reckon the 4wd drivewtrain bolts in? wouldnt you need to replace the floorpan? I've seen some step by steps of people converting a fwd lancer to 4wd and the whole process looks way too time consuming and expensive.

...but if its a simple bolt-in, we might have to consider it!

No floor plan cutting, Unlike CC lancer
Check out Mikey's Site he has recently done the TT conversion to one of his Galants his yet to finish the conversion on the other one, www.V6lancer.com/ttgalant.htm or www.v6lancer.com

They only thing that suck about the Galant is the lack of performance parts avaiable
