ok guys,
im doing a engine conversion for a mate soon, it has brought up some questions.
his engine is ment to use low impedance injectors with resistors.
what would happen if there was no resistors in there?
we now have some evo 510cc injectors, but am now told they are low impedance too.

but heres the funny thing, i have the same setup in my car, i never had any resistors, and just checked my old injectors, and they are identical to the ones in my mates engine that are ment to me low impedance and use resistors.

its got me now, how can i run low impedance injectors, with no resistor for so long, even have it dynoed a few times and no one notice anything?

cheers simon.

the resistors go on the positive side of the injectors but accually get a negative signal from the ecu i beleive, im pretty sure that correct. the positive side all groups together after the resistors.

i am going to get a resistor pack for y setup now anyway, dont want to do frying anything.

This is correct - but depending on which ecu you use - you may just be able to change the injector driver current and remove the resistor pack completely. This is what I did when I put an Adaptronic on my VR4 4G63.

Its just an option in my ecu software - I have mine set to 1.5Amps... Using the stock VR4 450cc injectors without the resistor pack.

ok, im still using standard 4g61t ecu. its just hard to work out as your not dropping resistance but dropping ohms, my brain cant work it out so im seeing if i can get a lecky mate to work it out for me.
cheers for your help.
