My over enthusiastic neighbour dropped by to watch me do a clutch on my VR4 AMG and decided to point out the my home "workshop" clearly does not meet OH & S standards.
Apparently:

The tread depth on my korean work boots did not meet standards.
While flexability is encouraged i did not bend at the knees while lifting gearbox into place and operating engine crane
my cut up ratchet strap supporting gearbox had no Safe work load sticker.
i had oil leak onto floor ( i did explain that i had called up BP to help plug the leak but was told it would take a few days and up to 18 attempts.)
the numerous jonny walker cans on the floor may be a slight trip hazard.

ill let you guys decide.

What was your neighbour doing talking when he should have been helping? AT least I hope he was doing the fridge run to get you drinks.

The only thing that I noticed wrong was a complete lack sparks from unnecessary welding...

At a cause of my day to day job, I often find myself having a think about what I am actually doing sometimes - and what procedures would be in place to ensure that no-one would get injured (similar to what your neighbor has pointed out - I am assuming it was all tongue in cheek). However in all honesty, everyone does a small risk evaluation (in their head) when doing something in the backyard. If you thought that you would probably loose your hand doing something, you wouldn't do it!

Backyard FTW!

ive opperated the hoist many times with my foot, i thought thats why they sold them with the bar that long, i always seem to reach it hehe
