Now not taking anything away from the owner of this fine machine, but i think Hot 4's has got its information wrong about another 4G powered car. This time its the Lancer GSR thats in the Brand new-in-my-letterbox-today, issue 143.

Man I was happy that another GSR finally made it into Hot 4's untill i flipped to those pages and felt so dissapointed :( .

Quotes like " without caution,, it pounces with all its 1.8L muscle" and "The star of this show is a mitsu lancer Evolution II GSR. It rolled off the production line in 1993....." OH its a evo 2 2L is it? :? and "Bringing the 1160KG EVO to a complete hault...." and "complements the evo III kit perfectly" so its a lancer GSR/Evo2 with a 3 kit?

Then in the "HOT Facts" section its a " 1993 lancer Evolution II GSR" Engine Hardware "1.8L turbocharged four cylinder"

Cumon Hot 4's  SOMEBODY screwed up the research ROYAL.

There is even NO FULL engine pic, just the BOV

Id just like to say that I have nothing against the owner at all, I think he has performed a nice simple/clean look to his car and its just the fact that Hot 4's seem to have written a really poor write up of it, and IF I was him i wouldnt be too happy either :(

I hope BOOST's GSR gets a really good write up, without the crap.

I will have to just get a subscription to ZOOM magazine instead

What do you guys think? :?:

This is the reason I only buy Zoom and HPI now. I cannot stand the poor journalism skills exhibited by these so called professionals.....

is it HOT 4's though????

I agree with what you say Dane but i always thought that it was the Owners words that got printed. My mate has had his car in ZOOM numerous times you might know it 1JZ-747 and he gets interveiwed and just answers questions they ask him..

Maybe its the owner wishing it was an EVO... It could be. hence the reason why no engine pic was displayed. so that us guys that know the diff between the 4g93 and the 4g63 cant pick it to pieces.

thats my thoughts anyway. anyone feel the same way??

that sucks Leon.

Its a gsr with 4g93 (damn nice engine bay too), with a genuine evo 2 bodykit. Probably one of the nicest GSR's in adelaide. I guess thats why they got confused, coz theres so many genuine evo bolt ins, excelpt the engine.

is that boost's gsr you guys are talkin abuot? i been waiting for that issue for ages now.

nup they take down dot points on the answers and then they expand on it a lot more for the article...

my friends article in hot 4s was totally different to what it was in real life in order of cars he owned and still had etc...

they talk a lot of crap...thats y i stopped with the hot4s magazine

We are NOT talking about Leon's car here.

I said i hope that BOOST's (leon) GSR gets a good write up "WHEN" it finally gets in.

I am talking about the Hot4's that JUST hit the shelves/letterbox's

Sorry just had to clear that up

that magazine has so much bollocks in it, its not funny!

zoom is about the only car mag i buy now.

typical of hot4's just to show a photo of a blow off valve... nothing else matters does it?

Last months HOT-4's write up on AFAS had an error in it also- but was most probably one of the AFAS team who wrote it.

"11 second street Galant VR-4 with stock standard internals"

I know for a fact that this car only did a flat 12.

 Close to your heart DRE? :p

Was it HOT 4s that featured the controversial article on DREEMD?

I remember lots of people kicked up a stink about that feature...

No, I think that was Fastfours. However, that was the owners fault - As he supplied them with the info, and the FF writers were dumb enough to regurgitate it.

ah k, my bad. Just from the description and mentioning boost, and knowing leons got an article coming up i thought it must have been his car.

Someone should scan the article and put it up.

 Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Frikken Car Mags ought to take more responsibility and tell it like it is or they will lose all credibility fom the public. I remember seeing an article on a GSR once which was referred to as an 'EVO' the whole way through it and then it said something about the car was up for sale (imagine how many people who dont know Mitsu's fell for it).

I would have thought that part of journalism was verifying the information before putting it to print and it really annoys me when they do not have at least one shot which shows the entire engine bay.

The GSR you's were first talking about is now in Wagga, one of my mates bought it. Piss's me off how they say its a EVO n shit..

Well ive been buying Hot4s for the last 2 yrs but i think after this month that has come to an end, ive also been buying zoom for the last 6 months as well and that is a far better publication. If i look at any magazine today and see the name Damon Dupriez i usually start looking for a trash can i can throw the magazine in the direction of.

Zoom FTW.
