Since swapping to the 63 in my coupe I done away with the a/c which leaves a big round a/c switch in the dash.I pulled the switch out removed a little spring so it is now push on release off, rewired the starter to it and someone with a steady hand could engrave a symbol or just a big S or starter on it, paint white and there you have it an in dash starter button that looks factory fitted.I suppose someone has already done this if not here you are. :D

yeah, a nice way to get your car flogged off easier. Theif no longer needs a key or smash open the steering mechanism, just a push of a button and off they go.

LOL it is only the starter not ignition which is still wired through the ignition lock.It only works with the key switched to on so a thief is still have to smashed and or bypass the ignition switch regardless how the starter works.Read the print,I said I rewired the starter NOT the ignition. No key No Start. It wont even kick over unless the ignition is switched to on.

I could post a pic but it just looks like any other a/c switch at the moment.I hope to engrave a symbol soon.I will post a pic then.As for the job it self I will create a walk through and post later. It is an easy job for anyone with a bit knowledge. :D

If you do this is there a way of stopping the key from turning past "ON"?
Also dont tell your mates as they will push it while the engine is running...

Without pulling the barrel out to check I would imagine it may be possible to modify the barrel to stop but unsure.I wont go that far until I am sure the a/c switch can handle all the work though in case I have to revert back.Never burn bridges you may have to cross again. The set up I did is able to be reverted back in case I decide to go back to a/c.
