My HSG has been getting 300 to 350 per tank around town for some time now and i got sick of filling it up (and paying for it).
I decided to start the process of fixing it by cleaning all connectors involved with the fuel system. I used Jaycar connector clean and follow up with clean and lubricate. I did all the connectors under the bonnet and pulled out the ECU and cleaned the connector.
When I started it it had lost the slight fuel smell from the exhaust and sounded smoother so I gave it a try before investigating further.
First week I did 300k around town and had over a third of a tank left and got 8.6 kpl. on Thursday I drove from Logan to the Sunshine Coast and came back through the city peak hour traffic on the way home which really killed the fuel test but I still got 9.6 kpl. I would have been well over 10 and possibly 12 kpl without the traffic jams.
If you are having problems this is probably worth a try.
