4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

As i said, tcu dual chip means two maps written onto eprom and switch connected so you can flick the switch to change between two tunes for tcu.
Tune includes upshift and downshift as desired and also line pressure.
It is all tuned to suit your driving requirements so if you want wot gear change at 8000rpm or any other rpm can be achieved and set per 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th as separate tune.
everything works as a 2D graph and throttle % vs speed is used to determine when the change will happen.
As you know, stock line pressure is a lot higher at high rpm then low but it can be increased again as throttle % vs speed.

All this is tested on Aldo's rvr and working fine.

Are they a 1g eprom tcu? I know the box is pretty much 1g and not a lockup converter.
I did hsg and ssg. Not sure for galant or any other. I would have to pull out the chip to see what's on it.

Can you please start a thread with your exact setup and mods etc for us Miodrag? I think there's a bunch of people who may be interested in learning more

Sorry mio, that wasnt clear.
my gearbox is from a auto rvr turbo. I have the loom and a non eprom tcu. I want to get a eprom tcu (probably from usa, unless someone has one) to suit. In the us they have 1g and 2g eprom tcu, to suit (obviously) 1g and 2g autos, turbo and nt.
The rvr is pretty much a 2g vehicle (7 bolt, roll stops on gearbox, cam/cas sensor etc.) But in the us a 2g has a different style auto, its a 3 speed box with a lock up torque converter, the 1g has a genuine 4sp auto and no lockup converter. This 1g gearbox is what our rvr have, albeit in a 2g style case.
Also, the chip burning guys in the us suggest the 2g can have dual maps, but i see no mention of the 1g dual map option.
So, do what eprom tcu do i need to get? A 1g or 2g to suit my rvr gearbox and loom?

1g mate. The one that comes with HSG or SSG RVR. I can get you the number from eprom I found in two different TCUs.
my setup includes single board TCU with Single eprom and addition of switch to the eprom which makes it dual map eprom. This can be switched at any time while driving the car.

So you customise both the power and economy map, and it will be switchable same as oem.
Thats great, because the full line pressure downshifts are not my cup of tea, esp into 1st.

is a 1g nt eprom tcu ok, or do we need a turbo donor?
I wonder what tcu a old magna use...maybe auto sonata as well.
